expand_more
It's considered gentle on the skin and is often chosen for a baby's or young child's first onsen experience around ages 0 to 1. That said, the appropriate age for bathing depends on the hotel's policy and your own family's judgment. Since it may be better to skip bathing altogether for a very young infant, it's reassuring to consult your pediatrician if you have any concerns.
