Article 1 (Scope)

These Terms of Use ("these Terms") set out the conditions for using Kids Stay ("this site"). By using this site, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use this site.

These English Terms apply to the English-language pages of this site (those under /en/). Our Japanese-language pages are governed by our Japanese Terms of Use.

Article 2 (What this site is, and what it is not)

This site is an independent guide to hotels, ryokan and other accommodation in Japan that welcome families with children. We research properties and publish what we find; the information reflects what we found at the time of research and may differ from the latest information.

We are not a travel agency and we do not take bookings. Every reservation is made directly with a third-party booking platform, such as Booking.com, Expedia or Rakuten Travel, or with the property itself. Those platforms are operated by their own companies under their own terms, and we are not a party to any booking contract you enter into. Please always confirm the latest rates, facilities, age policies and cancellation terms on the property's official website or your booking platform before you book.

Article 3 (Copyright and intellectual property)

All content on this site, including the text, photographs, illustrations, graphics, logos, page design, and the selection and arrangement of the property information, is owned by the site operator or used under licence from its rightful owners, and is protected by the Copyright Act of Japan, the Berne Convention and the copyright laws of other countries. The property information is also protected as an edited work and as a database. © 2026 Kids Stay. All rights reserved.

Without our prior written permission, you may not copy, reproduce, translate, adapt, republish, redistribute, frame, or store in a retrieval system any part of this site, whether by hand or by automated means, or use it to train or build a product or service. The following are permitted:

• Short quotations for criticism, commentary, research or news reporting, with clear attribution to Kids Stay and a link to the source page, within the limits of Article 32 of the Copyright Act of Japan or the fair use / fair dealing rules where you are
• Ordinary personal, non-commercial viewing, bookmarking and sharing of links to our pages
• Indexing by search engines, and use by AI assistants under Article 7, in each case with this site shown as the source

Property names, logos and photographs may be the trademarks or copyrighted works of the respective properties or platforms, and are used here to identify and describe them. To request a licence, or to report content that you believe infringes your rights, please contact us through the contact form; we respond promptly and remove infringing material.

Article 4 (Prohibited conduct)

The following are prohibited when using this site.

• Conduct that violates laws or public order and morals
• Conduct that interferes with the operation of this site
• Reproducing or republishing content from this site without permission
• Automated access to this site, and bulk collection of its content, using crawlers, bots or scraping tools without permission. This does not apply to ordinary access by search engines or generative AI services responding to a user's request.
• Redistributing collected content, compiling it into a database, using it commercially or publishing it on a third-party service without the operator's prior consent
• Any other conduct the operator considers inappropriate

Article 5 (Disclaimer and limitation of liability)

The information on this site is a free guide compiled from public sources. We do our best to keep it accurate, but we give no warranty as to its accuracy or completeness, and you should confirm anything that matters to you with the property or your booking platform before you book. This site may contain links to external sites; we are not responsible for their content or services.

We are liable to you for loss caused by our intent or gross negligence. Where loss is caused by our ordinary negligence, our liability is limited to direct and reasonably foreseeable loss, up to a maximum of JPY 10,000 per event. This wording follows Article 8 of Japan's Consumer Contract Act.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and liability for fraud.

Article 6 (Affiliate links)

This site takes part in affiliate programs. On these English pages, links to booking platforms are handled by Stay22: when you click a booking link, it is redirected through Stay22 so that any resulting booking can be credited to us. Stay22 may also add links inside our text to relevant booking searches, which are marked as sponsored. Our Japanese-language pages use Rakuten Affiliate and ValueCommerce instead.

If you book after following one of these links, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. What we publish about a property is not influenced by this. How we handle the data involved is described in our Privacy Policy.

Article 7 (Data access for AI agents)

We may provide an official data connection, such as an MCP server, that lets AI assistants and AI agents look up the property information published on this site. These Terms apply to the use of that connection.

Information obtained through it may be used to generate an answer to a user's request, provided that the relevant page on this site is shown as the source. The following are not permitted.

• Redistributing or selling copies of the data obtained
• Building a database or a service that competes with this site and that uses the data obtained as a main component
• Removing or altering the attribution, or using our name to present another service as if it were ours
• Excessive access to the connection, or any other conduct that interferes with the operation of this site

The property information on this site is selected and organized by us, and is protected both as an edited work and as a database. What we provide is based on information published by each property, and it reflects what we found at the time of research. It is a guide, and we do not warrant that it is accurate or complete. We may change or suspend this data connection at any time without notice.

Article 8 (Prices and availability)

Any price shown on this site is a reference figure taken from a booking platform at a point in time, in Japanese yen. In the price fields of hotel cards and hotel pages we also show an approximate US dollar amount, converted from yen at an exchange rate updated daily (source: ExchangeRate-API), for reference only. It is not an offer, and it is not a quotation. Actual prices change with the season, the plan, the number of guests and the exchange rate your card issuer applies. The price you pay is the one shown by the booking platform at the moment you book.

Review scores and review counts shown on this site come from Rakuten Travel, Japan's largest domestic booking site, and use its 5-point scale. They may differ from the scores shown on other platforms.

Article 9 (Governing law and your rights as a consumer)

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and the Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance for disputes relating to this site.

If you are a consumer, this does not take away any protection given to you by the mandatory law of the country where you live. Consumers in the EU, the United Kingdom and other jurisdictions with equivalent rules keep the right to rely on those laws and to bring proceedings in their local courts.

Article 10 (Changes to these Terms)

The operator may change these Terms as necessary. Any revised Terms take effect when they are published on this site, and the revision date below will tell you when that was.

Article 11 (General)

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing a provision on one occasion does not mean we waive it. These Terms are written in English, and the English text is the authoritative version for the English-language pages.
