Overview
The Pulse Kirishima is a large resort hotel with 243 rooms in Kirishima, Kagoshima. There is a communal bath fed by a simple onsen, an open-air bath with water flowing directly from the source and private-hire baths, and in summer an outdoor pool and a kids' pool are open as well. Inside, there is a playroom called Kodon Park as well as a game room, and families can choose child-friendly room types such as the family rooms. The buffet restaurant serves breakfast, and dinner as well on some plans.
Rooms
The twin rooms in the West Wing (the older building) have two 125 cm-wide beds plus two 100 cm sofa beds, sleeping up to 4 guests when the sofa beds are used. The West Wing's Japanese-Western rooms have twin beds and a raised tatami platform; with futons laid out in the tatami area they sleep up to 5 guests, and guests lay out the futons themselves. The family rooms Taiyo and Sora in the East Wing (the renovated building) are both 69 sq m and sleep up to 6 guests. Sora is designed with families with young children in mind, with a table without sharp corners and extra-wide beds. The Premier Suite is 72 sq m, the largest room in the hotel, and sleeps up to 7 guests; here too, guests lay out the futons themselves.

The restaurant ALL DAY DINING THE PULSE on the 2nd floor serves a buffet, with breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and last entry at 9:30 a.m. Some plans also include the dinner buffet, served from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with last orders at 8:45 p.m. The hotel does not accommodate allergies or substitute ingredients for personal preferences, so please check in advance if you need special arrangements. In-room dining and room service are not available.

The spring water is a colorless, clear, tasteless and odorless simple onsen. The indoor bath uses recirculated onsen water, while the open-air bath flows directly from the source, with water added and heated. There are also 4 semi-open-air private-hire baths, at 2,200 yen including tax for 50 minutes. They cannot be reserved in advance; apply at the front desk after check-in. Children may enter the communal bath of the opposite sex only if they have not yet started elementary school, meaning under 6 years old, and the sauna is limited to guests in junior high school, age 13 and over.
