The bathhouses on the grounds hold 8 private-hire baths, with a choice of rock baths, a hinoki cypress bath, ceramic baths and a Goemon-buro (a cast-iron tub bath). One bathhouse is assigned to each guest room for its exclusive use, and the baths can be used at any time without a reservation. The hinoki bath Kaede is a favorite with families with small children, and Ume no Yu, rented by the hour, has a lounge area with a veranda, making it easy to use when parents take turns bathing.

Every room is an independent Japanese-style tatami cottage laid out as two connected rooms. Fukumanzan and Hyugadake have two 6-tatami rooms and sleep up to 3 guests. Yufudake, Noineyama, Tateishiyama, Jogadake and Yuyama have two 6-tatami rooms plus a veranda (engawa) and sleep up to 4 guests; Yufudake also has its own private garden. Each guest room comes with a designated family bath for its exclusive use. Three cottages - Shiroyu, Otogino and Tsurumidake - are adult-oriented, and children cannot stay in them.

Meals are served in the dining area in the main house, which includes Japanese-style tatami seating, so it is easy to use with children. The Daichi no Megumi Japanese kaiseki course, made with local Yufuin ingredients, is popular, and breakfast features the ryokan's signature rice topped with a hot-spring egg (onsen tamago).
