Location and Access

Fuji Kawaguchiko Resort Hotel stands in Funatsu, Fujikawaguchiko-machi, Minamitsuru-gun, Yamanashi, about an 11-minute walk from Kawaguchiko Station on the Fujikyuko Line and about a 12-minute walk from Fuji-Q Highland Station. A free shuttle also runs from bus stop 10 at Kawaguchiko Station, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. with advance reservation. Fuji-Q Highland is about 2 minutes away by car (1.5 km), Lake Kawaguchi about 2 minutes by car (1.6 km) and Oshino Hakkai about 15 minutes by car (9.8 km), putting the main sights of the Lake Kawaguchi area easily within reach.

Rooms

Opened in 2019, the hotel has 120 rooms in 5 modern types rich in Japanese character. All rooms are non-smoking and come with a bathroom, a television and a range of amenities. Guests accompanied by a guide dog can also stay.

Communal Bath

The communal bath has separate men's and women's sides, each with indoor baths and an open-air bath. There are two indoor function baths: a carbonated bath containing more than 1,000 ppm of carbon dioxide, and a milky-white silky bath, the silk bath, where jets create fine bubbles. The open-air bath is built to take in the view of Mount Fuji and includes two pot baths. Hours are 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Note that these are function baths with carbon dioxide gas added rather than natural onsen, and there is no sauna.

Points to Note for Families

As a condition of use, guests with tattoos and children wearing diapers cannot use the communal bath. Families with children who are not yet out of diapers will need to use the bathtub in their room.

Dining

The buffet restaurant looks out on Mount Fuji and serves a wide selection of Japanese, Western and Chinese dishes, including menu items made with local ingredients that draw on the bounty of Mount Fuji.

Parking and Winter Conditions

Parking is free, with 27 surface spaces and room for 5 large buses, on a first-come, first-served basis. Snow and icy roads occur in the Lake Kawaguchi area in winter, so snow tires or chains are recommended. Children who have not yet started elementary school stay free when co-sleeping, without meals or bedding, and are asked to share meals with the adults. An additional futon costs 3,000 yen each. Late checkout is available until 12 noon at the latest.
