Ryokan Fujitomita is a small 9-room ryokan in a quiet part of Oshino-mura. Every room looks out at Mount Fuji, and the artificial-onsen baths, which use Health Stone activated stone, can be booked for private use whenever they are free. Ryokan Fujitomita is a small 9-room ryokan in a quiet spot in Shibokusa, Oshino-mura. It is about 7 minutes by car from Oshino Hakkai, a designated natural monument, and about 15 minutes by car from Fujisan Station, with a free shuttle available from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. if you contact the ryokan in advance. The Fujiyoshida-Oshino Smart IC on the Higashi-Fujigoko Toll Road is about 8 minutes away by car, making this an easy base for seeing Oshino Hakkai and touring the Fuji Five Lakes.
Rooms
Every room is designed around its Mount Fuji view. You can choose according to your family: a Japanese-style tatami room (6 tatami mats, 1-2 guests), a Western-style condominium room (15 tatami mats, 1-4 guests, with bathroom and toilet), or a Japanese-Western condominium room (20.5 tatami mats, 1-6 guests, with bathroom and toilet, and two or more separate rooms). The Japanese-style tatami rooms have a heater, while the condominium-type rooms all have their own bathroom and toilet. The basics are covered throughout: toilets with a bidet function, Wi-Fi, a television, a refrigerator, a kettle and a hair dryer. With 9 rooms in total, this is a small ryokan.
Baths and Onsen
There are two baths using what is called the Health Stone activated-stone onsen, an artificial hot spring, and both can be used privately whenever they are free (bathing hours are 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.). By avoiding the busier times, families with young children can bathe without worrying about other guests. A notice states that the sauna is being adjusted for the time being, and as of August 2025 the outdoor private-hire sauna is run strictly by advance reservation, at 2,200 yen for one group of 1 to 4 people, with swimwear required.
