Kawaguchiko Hotel is a traditional lakeside hotel with a communal bath looking out on Mount Fuji and views across Lake Kawaguchi. Its 38 rooms are a mix of Japanese-style tatami rooms, Western-style rooms and cottages, and the accommodation plans have child rates. Only breakfast is served, with no dinner, and the communal bath is separated by gender only. From Kawaguchiko Station it is a 12-minute walk, and a free shuttle bus is also available.
Rooms
The hotel has 38 rooms in total: 24 Japanese-style tatami rooms, 14 Western-style rooms and 2 cottages. The Japanese-style tatami rooms are 10 tatami mats with a bath and toilet, take 1 to 4 guests, and have child rates. The Western-style rooms are 22 sq m, with classic interiors featuring wallpaper by a British designer. For groups and families there is also a roomier 17.5-tatami Japanese-style room for 1 to 6 guests. There is also a Japanese-style bedroom with two beds set in a tatami room, which suits guests who find futons uncomfortable. Neither of these rooms has its own bath, so guests use the communal bath. The cottages, set apart from the main hotel, take 1 to 8 guests; depending on the plan you can bring your own food and drinks, and it is fine to keep the party going late into the night. Rooms 321 and 322 in the main building are Japanese-style tatami rooms renovated with Kyo-karakami (traditional Kyoto decorative paper) and fine timber. However, they are limited to guests aged 16 and over, sound carries easily through the wooden building, and they have no bath, so they are not suited to families with young children.

Breakfast is served in the restaurant, with a choice of 7:30 a.m., 8 a.m. or 8:30 a.m. It costs 3,300 yen per person, including consumption tax. Dinner is not served, so you will need to arrange your own dinner on the day you arrive.
Baths
The panoramic communal bath has separate baths for men and women. Mount Fuji is visible from both, and the bath on the east side also looks out over Lake Kawaguchi. The men's bath faces Lake Kawaguchi and Mount Fuji head-on, while the women's bath offers a sweeping panorama of Mount Fuji from the tub. Bathing hours are 3 p.m. to midnight, and 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. the next morning. Facilities include an indoor bath, a sauna, a cold plunge bath, washing stations with faucets and shower booths. Because there are only separate men's and women's baths, a child who is not the same sex as the accompanying parent needs to bathe with a guardian of the child's own sex.

Child rates are set for every plan, whether Japanese-style tatami room, Western-style room or cottage, and depending on the room type, from 1 up to 8 family members can stay together. However, some rooms in the main building (rooms 321 and 322) are limited to guests aged 16 and over, so families with young children will need to choose a different room. The communal bath is separated by gender only, and you can take in Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi while soaking in the tub. Access
By car, the hotel is about 20 minutes from the Kawaguchiko Interchange on the Higashi-Fujigoko Road, and free parking is available. There are 25 spaces, and no reservation is needed. By train, it is a 12-minute walk from Kawaguchiko Station, and a free shuttle bus also runs between the station and the hotel. For the ride to the hotel, call after you arrive at Kawaguchiko Station; this runs between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. From the hotel to the station, the bus runs every 30 minutes between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. each morning. Check-in is from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., and checkout is at 10 a.m. Checkout can be extended for 2,200 yen per hour, including consumption tax.
