Cottage Kids Forest and other family cottages

There is a good choice of family cottage types, starting with Cottage Kids Forest, which sleeps 6 and has a mini kitchen. Others include Camping Pao Family (with a fire stand, BBQ grill, and table and chairs) and Cottage Dining, which sleeps 8 and works well for larger groups. A start pack is also available for families camping together for the first time.

Wood splitting, campfires and BBQ

Cottage Kids Forest and some other cottages are fitted with a Kindling Cracker for splitting firewood and a fire pit, so children can try everything from splitting wood to tending the fire. Outdoor cooking menus are available, and some cottages even have a pizza oven.

Shared bathhouses (separate for men and women)

Indoor

There are shared bathhouses for men and women. Each bath fits about 5 people, with 5 showers. Bring your own shampoo and towels; a hair dryer is provided in the changing room. Guests can also use nearby Fujiyama Onsen at a discount.

Overview

PICA Fujiyoshida is an outdoor resort run by PICA Resort and known as the campsite closest to Mount Fuji. It offers a wide range of styles, from cottages that all have a roof, a BBQ grill and heating and air conditioning, to tent sites in the woods, so it suits everyone from families trying camping for the first time to experienced campers. There are also plenty of options designed around children, such as Cottage Kids Forest.

This PICA Resort outdoor site sits in a location where Mount Fuji feels closest. Known as the campsite closest to Mount Fuji, it welcomes a broad range of guests, from families trying camping together for the first time to seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

A Wide Choice of Ways to Stay

Options include tent sites among the broadleaf woods (with or without electricity), tent sites with a deck, Camping Pao tents (TAKIBI, Family and Grande), trailer cabins, cottages (Hammock, Terrace, Minimal, Kids Forest, Forest Kitchen and Dining), THE GRANDE (Scandinavian and Nordic) and Outdoor Grande. Every cottage has a roof, a BBQ grill, and heating and air conditioning. A camping set that lets you arrive empty-handed is available to borrow, and a start pack that includes support with pitching your tent is also offered, so even families with no camping experience can come with peace of mind.

Cottage Kids Forest

This family cottage sleeps 6 and has an indoor mini kitchen plus outdoor cooking equipment. The deck outside is fitted with a Kindling Cracker for splitting firewood and a fire pit, so children can experience the satisfaction of getting a fire going. The power outlets are set at a height of 90 cm, out of easy reach of small children.

Shared Facilities

There are shared bathhouses for men and women, each with a bathtub and 5 showers. Bring your own shampoo and towels; hair dryers are provided. Hours are 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Guests can also use nearby Fujiyama Onsen at a discount by asking at check-in. A coin laundry is available for a fee, which helps on longer stays, and there is a shop and vending machines on site.

Shuttle Bus

A free shuttle bus runs 3 times a day between the resort and Kawaguchiko Station, Fuji-Q Highland Station and Mt. Fuji Station on the Fujikyuko Line. Please check the schedule in advance.

Bringing Pets

Dogs may accompany guests only at the Dog Garden Cabin, which comes with a private dog run of about 200 sq m. At other cottages, a cage or carrier is required. If you are bringing a pet, you must contact the PICA help desk (0555-30-4580) or the resort (0555-24-4343) in advance.

Children's Ages and Rates

Charges apply from age 4, with plans offering a choice of "preschool-age child with meals and futon bedding" or "preschool-age child with futon bedding only." Children ages 3 and under stay free. If the number of guests is not selected correctly, an extra charge is applied on the day, so please confirm this when booking.

Rules and Notes

Lights out is at 10 p.m., and guests are asked to refrain from driving on the grounds between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. Handheld fireworks, karaoke and generators are not permitted. Check-in is until 7 p.m.; if you will arrive later, you must contact the resort. Equipment and facilities differ from one accommodation to another, so we recommend checking each cottage on the facility pages of the official website. Checkout may be extended for an additional charge, but only if space is available on the day.

Until what time can we enjoy a BBQ or campfire outside?

Yes. Kids Forest Park is a place where young children can play safely regardless of the weather. A parent or guardian must always supervise children using it. Indoors, there is also a playroom in the front building with building blocks and picture books, open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
