West Inn Fujiyoshida

A 62-room hotel close to Fuji-Q Highland

West Inn Fujiyoshida is a 62-room hotel on Route 139 in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi, a base for the Fuji Five Lakes. It is about 1 minute by car from both the Kawaguchiko IC on the Chuo Expressway and the Fujiyoshida IC on the Higashi-Fuji-Goko Road, and about 5 minutes by car from Fuji-Q Highland, so it works equally well for family trips, business and golf. Room types include single, double, twin and DX single, among others. A renovated Japanese-modern twin was added in April 2023, and some rooms were renovated in May 2024.

Activated-stone artificial onsen communal bath and sauna

The first floor of the main building has a communal bath, described as an artificial onsen using activated stones. A sauna is attached as well, so you can ease the tiredness of a long journey. The rules for families are that boys aged 8 and under may use the women's bath, and that children who are not yet out of diapers, guests with tattoos and intoxicated guests are not permitted to bathe. The sauna and communal bath make it easy to feel refreshed the morning after a family trip.

Free co-sleeping for families

The hotel states that co-sleeping is free for children up to the lower grades of elementary school, which keeps costs down for families with children who have not yet started elementary school or are in the lower grades. Amenities are a basic set for adults, so please bring your own for children.

Rooms and hotel facilities

Every room has a shower, bathtub and toilet, air conditioning and heating, a flat-screen TV, an empty refrigerator, an electric kettle and free Wi-Fi (a wired LAN connection can also be used). The interiors are simple and modern, and some rooms face the direction of Mount Fuji. Hotel facilities include the communal bath, sauna, Restaurant Gourmand, a lounge, a coin laundry, a business room and a smoking corner (on the second floor of the main building only; there is none in the annex). Shared indoor areas are non-smoking as a rule.

FamilyMart on the property and parking

A 24-hour FamilyMart is attached on the property, which is handy for a late check-in or for shopping with children. Parking is free for 50 standard cars and motorcycles on a first-come, first-served basis (large and medium-size buses cannot be accommodated; please inquire about small buses). Parking before check-in and after checkout is also possible.

Access

About a 20-minute walk or a 5-minute taxi ride from Fujisan Station on the Fujikyuko Line. About a 5-10 minute walk from the Fuji-Q Highland stop on the Chuo Expressway Bus. By car, it is about 1 minute from the Kawaguchiko IC on the Chuo Expressway and about 1 minute from the Fujiyoshida IC on the Higashi-Fuji-Goko Road.
