Yamanakako Garden Villa

Yamanakako Garden Villa is a summer-only resort standing among the forests of Lake Yamanaka, a summer retreat about 1,000 m above sea level. Surrounded by the rich nature at the foot of Mount Fuji, families and groups of friends can take their time over a summer holiday, enjoying forest bathing in the cool highland air.

Rooms

There are 16 rooms in all, mainly Japanese-style tatami rooms. Each room has 8 tatami mats and sleeps up to 4 guests, and the property as a whole can accommodate up to 64 guests. It works well for large groups and three-generation trips, and for a group of 45 adults or more you can also discuss taking the whole place, with every room reserved for you.

Communal Bath

The property has communal baths, separate for men and women. The water is deep-water vanadium mineral spring water, not an onsen; it helps you stay warm after your bath and leaves you feeling refreshed. There is no open-air bath and no sauna. Bathing hours are from 3 p.m. to midnight, and again from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. the next morning.

How to Spend Your Time

On the grounds you can play tennis and table tennis, and there is also a banquet hall, with shogi and go sets available to borrow. In the cool of a highland resort you can be as active or as quiet as you like, at your own pace. There is no pool.

Access

About 30 minutes by bus from Fujisan Station on the Fujikyuko Line, or about 40 minutes by bus from Gotemba Station. By car, you can come via the Kawaguchiko IC on the Chuo Expressway or the Yamanakako IC on the Higashi-Fujigoko Road. A free shuttle to bus terminals and other points around Lake Yamanaka is also available; it does not run on a fixed schedule, so please arrange it in advance. Parking is free of charge. Meals accommodating food allergies can also be arranged.
