Ooike Hotel Kawaguchiko is an onsen ryokan on elevated ground on the southeastern shore of Lake Kawaguchi. It is about 9 minutes by car from Fuji-Q Highland and about 7 minutes from the Kawaguchiko Interchange, with convenient access from the Tokyo metropolitan area via the Chuo Expressway in about 2 hours. A free shuttle bus from Kawaguchiko Station is available from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A Fuji-View Communal Bath and Private-Hire Open-Air Baths

The 5th-floor Fuji-view communal bath is on the top floor of the main building, with Mount Fuji visible directly in front of the bathtubs. The garden open-air baths, Seseragi no Yu and Komorebi no Yu, alternate between men and women, allowing guests to enjoy both baths. The bathing areas include ceramic baths and jacuzzi baths, each with a different atmosphere. There are also two types of private-hire open-air bath, Enza no Yu and Hojo no Yu, where families can bathe together in privacy. The private-hire baths use heated water rather than onsen water. They cost JPY 3,000 plus tax for 50 minutes, and are free as a perk on some plans. Baby beds are provided in the changing rooms, and baby soap is available to borrow from the front desk.

Guest Rooms Centered on Mount Fuji Views

Guest rooms comprise 1 suite type, 7 deluxe types, 2 standard types, and 2 casual types. The upper floors of the annex, newly built in 2021, feature Japanese-Western rooms and Japanese-style tatami rooms with Fuji-view baths. The top-floor suite has a Fuji-view open-air bath with a jacuzzi and a separate bedroom. The main building also has universal Japanese-Western rooms and Japanese-style tatami rooms measuring 10 or 12 tatami mats. Most rooms accommodate 2 to 5 guests. Japanese-style rooms generally have futons, while Western-style rooms generally have semi-double beds.

Child-Friendly Dining and Baby Food Support

Meals for children include Japanese-style kaiseki cuisine based on the adult menu for elementary school-age children, and a kids' meal for children under school age with Hamburg steak, fried shrimp, crab cream croquettes, salad, curry, and more. Separate-order options include mini udon, mini curry, and a mixed fried-food plate, which can be ordered until 7:30 p.m. on the day of the meal, only by guests using a plan with dinner included. Bringing food or drinks other than baby food is not allowed, but baby food may be brought in and warmed in a microwave. At the dining venue, ask the staff for assistance.

Access and Parking

The ryokan is about 7 minutes by car from the Kawaguchiko Interchange on the Chuo Expressway and is just beyond the Chigasaki-kita intersection. Free asphalt parking for 50 cars is available; there is no dedicated motorcycle parking or bicycle parking. The free shuttle from Kawaguchiko Station operates from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.; guests should call the hotel after arriving at Kawaguchiko Station. Advance reservations and time reservations are not accepted. The ryokan is about 7 to 9 minutes by car from Fuji-Q Highland and about a 3-minute walk from a convenience store. Day-use bathing is not accepted; the baths are for staying guests only.
