Four pet-friendly rental villas plus a pension

Semica Yamanakako, in the Hirano area of Yamanakako-mura, is made up of four detached pet-friendly rental villas and one pension. Each building differs in size and style, so you can choose according to your group, from couples to families to larger groups of roughly 2 to 8 people. Each rental villa is booked as a whole for your group alone and comes with a full self-catering kitchen, so family and friends can settle in without holding back.

Four types of rental villa

According to the hotel's information, there are four rental villas.

• Building A (2-8 guests): an American imported-home style. The family can gather in the second-floor living-dining room with a view of Mount Fuji, and there is a dog run on the terrace.
• Building B (2-4 guests): a cottage with a country look, suited to small groups and smaller families.
• Building C (4-6 guests): a garden barbecue and a private dog garden on a 250-tsubo (about 826 sq m) plot, where dogs can run around among the trees.
• Building D (2-8 guests): an American cottage with a private dog garden. It has a living-dining room and two bedrooms on the first floor, two Western-style rooms with futon bedding on the second floor, plus a sunroom, a terrace and the dog garden.

Pension Semica is rented as a whole building for groups of 10 or more, such as group bookings, training camps, company retreats and school trips.

Self-catering kitchens and garden barbecues

Each building has cooking facilities - not an induction cooktop, but in some cases a hot plate, along with an oven, a microwave, a rice cooker, an electric hot-water kettle, pots, frying pans, dishes and cooking utensils - so you can bring the ingredients you like and enjoy cooking. For the garden barbecue, the grill, wire rack, iron plate and tongs are lent free of charge; charcoal, ingredients, seasonings, bath towels and nightwear must be brought with you. Building D has terracotta underfloor heating in the first-floor living-dining room, along with air conditioning.

Baths and what to expect with children

There is no communal bath or onsen facility on the property, so guests use the en-suite bathroom in their own building. A washlet toilet, shampoo, conditioner and body soap are provided. Because these are rental villas, the family can bathe on its own, and no age restrictions are stated.

Pets are welcome

All of the buildings accept pets, and Buildings C and D in particular have a private dog garden on the grounds. The property presents itself as "pet-friendly rental villas and cottages" with the concept of "a lovely holiday your dog will enjoy too," and it is built around stays with dogs.

Access and how check-in works

It is about 10 minutes by car from the Kawaguchiko Interchange on the Chuo Expressway to the Yamanakako Interchange via the Higashi-Fuji-Goko Road. Check-in starts at 2 p.m.: you check in first at Pension Semica, and staff then show you to your rental villa. Please contact the property in advance if you will be arriving late. Checkout can be extended for 3,000 yen per building per 30 minutes, including tax, until 12 p.m.
