Location and Scenery

Lakeland Hotel Mizunosato is in Kodachi, Fujikawaguchiko-machi, Minamitsuru-gun, Yamanashi Prefecture, a 47-room onsen hotel standing on the shore of Lake Kawaguchi. It is about 5 minutes by taxi from Kawaguchiko Station on the Fujikyuko Line, about 10 minutes by car from the Kawaguchiko Interchange on the Chuo Expressway, and about 2 hours by highway bus from Shinjuku. The hotel also offers free transfers from Kawaguchiko Station in the Mizunosato-go, a minibus or van, between 2:45 p.m. and 8 p.m., with advance notice required.

Baths and Onsen

The bathhouse wing has two communal baths, one facing Mount Fuji and one facing Lake Kawaguchi, and the men's and women's baths swap over so that guests can enjoy both views. The Mount Fuji-side communal bath has a jacuzzi, a waterfall bath (utaseyu), a multi-function shower, a sauna and a reclining bath, and the view open-air baths Amanogawa and Suigetsu are arranged so that they connect with the Lake Kawaguchi-side communal bath. The view open-air baths are included with use of the communal bath at no extra charge, though they may be unavailable in winter because of snow or ice. There is also an open-air bath that can be booked privately for 40 minutes for an additional 2,750 yen including tax; blind film is fitted so that no one can see inside from outside. Reservations for the private-hire bath are taken only on the day of your stay, in slots from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m.

Rooms

The hotel offers calm Japanese-style tatami rooms, Japanese-Western rooms, and rooms with their own open-air bath for an additional charge. The bath in the rooms with an open-air bath uses heated water rather than onsen water, so guests combine it with the onsen in the communal baths for a round of different baths. Every room has a bathroom, air conditioning, a television and a refrigerator, and rooms look out toward either Mount Fuji or Lake Kawaguchi. Wheelchair-accessible rooms and toilets are available, the communal baths have handrails, and the private-hire bath is also wheelchair accessible, with arrangements available on request.

Staying with Children

Children under 2 pay no facility-use fee; the fee applies from age 2. To stay with a child under 2, note it in the remarks field when booking, in the form "we also have [number] child(ren) aged [age]." For family stays, the Japanese-style tatami rooms and Japanese-Western rooms make it easy to spread out. Whether children who are not yet out of diapers may use the communal baths is not stated, so we recommend confirming on arrival.

Dining

The restaurant overlooking the lake serves Japanese course meals made with local and seasonal ingredients. The serving times for dinner and breakfast were revised in May 2026. Please check the latest times in the information provided when you book.

Facilities and Services

Beside the front desk there is a shop selling Yamanashi specialties, and the hotel also has meeting and training rooms in various sizes, a rooftop observation deck with sweeping views of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi, and rental bicycles. Day-use bathing is not offered, so the communal baths and private-hire bath are for staying guests only. Parking is free for 60 cars. Meals accommodating allergies and religious dietary requirements can be arranged, as can finely chopped meals or rice served as rice porridge. Please discuss your needs when booking.
