Hakone Yumoto Yaeikan is a long-established ryokan beside a mountain stream, a 6-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station. All 20 rooms are Japanese-style tatami rooms, each with its own character, and breakfast and dinner are, as a rule, served in your room. The private-hire bath and the private-hire open-air bath are free to use 24 hours a day, so the family can enjoy the onsen on their own. Co-sleeping is available for up to 2 children, and a kids' meal is offered. There is no elevator, and some rooms involve a lot of stairs.
Rooms
All 20 rooms are Japanese-style tatami rooms, each with its own character, in 7 types. Every room has a toilet with a bidet function. The standard Natsukashi no Ma sleeps 1 to 7 guests, Seseragi no Ma, along the Sukumogawa River, sleeps 1 to 6, and the Japanese-modern Yutori no Ma [Matsukaze] sleeps 1 to 5. Some rooms also come with their own onsen bath: the 53 sq m Yutori no Ma [Yugiri] for 1 to 7 guests, and the 83 sq m special room Yutori no Ma [Horai] for 1 to 8. Hoga no Ma, on the top floor, involves a lot of stairs (the equivalent of four floors), and there is no elevator. Some other rooms also involve a lot of stairs, so if you are unsteady on your feet, the ryokan asks you to consult them in advance.

As a rule, both breakfast and dinner are served in your room, and a dedicated dining room is arranged only for larger groups. For children who cannot yet eat the kaiseki-style Japanese set meal, there is a kids' meal: dishes such as Hamburg steak and fried prawns served in a basket.
