Fuji View Hotel

Fuji View Hotel is a classic resort in the Fujiya Hotel chain, standing on high ground in the Katsuyama area on the southern shore of Lake Kawaguchi. Majestic Mount Fuji spreads out in front of the hotel all the way down to its foothills, and the grounds hold a garden of roughly 30,000 tsubo (about 99,000 sq m). The appeal is an open, spacious stay where you can watch the seasons turn: more than 300 cherry trees in spring, then fresh greenery, autumn leaves and snowy scenery.

Guest Rooms

Japanese-style tatami rooms, Japanese-Western rooms and Western-style rooms are all well represented, and many have generous layouts that suit multigenerational family trips. You can choose to match your group size and preferences: a Japanese-Western room with 10 tatami mats of Ryukyu tatami, a 22.5-tatami Superior Japanese-style tatami room sleeping up to 6 guests, or a Junior Suite with a scenic-view bath. Every room has been renovated as non-smoking, with views toward Mount Fuji, Lake Kawaguchi or the gardens.

Onsen and Communal Bath

The communal bath on the first basement floor draws on Shurei no Yu, one of the springs of the Lake Kawaguchi Onsen area. The spring water is a calcium and sodium sulfate-chloride spring, said to be beneficial for neuralgia and sensitivity to cold. There is one bath each for men and women, both with an open-air bath and a sauna, open from 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and again from 5:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. the next morning. Beside the communal bath is a multipurpose restroom with a diaper-changing mat, so families with young children can use it with peace of mind.

Family-Friendly Facilities

The hotel is well equipped to support multigenerational travel. Alongside children's slippers, yukata and pajamas available to borrow, it can prepare baby food on request, sells baby food and diapers on the premises, provides children's tableware and can bring warm water at 60°C to your room for preparing formula. Strollers are available to borrow free of charge, and bed fences and bed guards are available in limited quantities. Cribs can also be set up in the rooms. Meal plans that include kids' dishes are available as well.

Activities

In the roughly 30,000-tsubo garden, children and adults alike can get moving with ground golf (equipment lent free of charge, free for staying guests, 6:30 a.m. to sunset), three tennis courts and badminton. There are plenty of ways to spend time close to nature, whether cycling around the shore of Lake Kawaguchi on a rental bicycle or borrowing binoculars free of charge for bird-watching. A walking path of about 1.6 km runs along the lakeshore and is well suited to a stroll.

Dining

For dinner you can choose between French and Japanese cuisine, and breakfast is served in the Fuji View Lounge. The hotel has a policy on handling food allergies, and if you would like it to accommodate one, you need to confirm the details in advance.

Access

The hotel is about 10 minutes by taxi from Kawaguchiko Station on the Fujikyu Railway Line, and it is close to the Kawaguchiko Interchange on the Chuo Expressway, making it easy to reach by car. Parking for 86 vehicles is available free of charge.
