Overview
Pension Crescendo sits on high ground looking down over Lake Kawaguchi. Every room is non-smoking and takes in the grand sweep of Mount Fuji, and two private-hire baths fed with radon spring water can be enjoyed free of charge around the clock. The pension also has a Music Bar, where the owner plays live acoustic guitar and where anniversary surprises can be arranged, making it a place that looks after a family's special stay.
A six-room pension on the high ground of the Kawaguchi settlement, on the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchi. Beyond the windows lie Mount Fuji, a World Heritage site, and Lake Kawaguchi through the seasons, and the little inn itself is striking, like a castle out of a fairy tale.
Rooms
Every room is non-smoking, and there are four types: a deluxe double with Mount Fuji views, a twin with two single beds, a Japanese-Western room of about 16 tatami mats that sleeps up to 4, and a reasonably priced Western-style double facing the mountainside. Some of the deluxe double and twin rooms have Italian-made shower booths, and the Japanese-Western room has a layout where futon bedding can be laid out on the tatami area, which makes co-sleeping with a small child easy. The whole property takes only 26 guests, so families can settle in at an unhurried pace.

The two private-hire radon baths inside are the pension's pride. They use black silica and Badgastein ore, and the water is heated after passing through a water softener to make it ultra-soft. Dining
Gentle, wholesome cooking made with carefully chosen ingredients is served in a dining room set off by a fireplace and a self-playing piano. The care that comes with a family-run inn is part of the appeal: anniversary surprises, cake orders and similar requests are handled individually.

There is a lounge with views of Mount Fuji, a shared microwave, refrigerator and coffee machine, and the Music Bar, where the owner's live acoustic guitar plays in the evening.
