La Vista Fuji Kawaguchiko is a resort hotel on elevated ground in Kawaguchi, Fujikawaguchiko-machi, on the north shore of Lake Kawaguchi. It is Kyoritsu Maintenance's Mount Fuji-area base for the La Vista series, with interiors unified in a South of France Provence style. The walls, furnishings, and terrace railings follow the same theme, while spectacular views of Mount Fuji spread beyond Lake Kawaguchi outside the windows.

83 rooms, most with view baths

The hotel has 83 rooms in 4 types—Twin, Double, Triple, and quad (sleeps 4)—with both Provence-style La Vista rooms and Rose-style rooms featuring rose-themed décor. Rooms range from 19 to 56 sq m, and most have view baths beside the window or on the terrace suitable for half-body bathing. All rooms are nonsmoking and include an air purifier with humidifying function, refrigerator, safe, Wi-Fi, and television. Infants and children under school age may stay only by co-sleeping with an adult; bedding-only stays are not accepted. Children ages 0 to 2 stay free. Children under school age ages 3 and up require a facility fee of JPY 2,200-3,300 including tax even when they do not need bedding or meals. Cribs are available to borrow free of charge and can be requested when booking.

A natural onsen communal bath closest to Mount Fuji and 4 free private-hire baths

The communal bath, the natural onsen communal bath, is in the part of the property closest to Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi. It uses natural onsen water drawn from calcium-sodium sulfate spring water that rises from an on-site source, and has separate indoor baths and open-air baths for men and women. Hours are from 3 p.m. to 11 a.m. the following morning; it is unavailable from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. for cleaning. There are also 4 private-hire baths available free of charge—stone, brick, mosaic tile and bamboo—as well as chair-style ganbanyoku, all available 24 hours. These are not reservation-based: guests check availability on an electronic display board. Unavailable during some cleaning periods. Towels are not provided in either the communal bath or private-hire baths; guests should bring the in-room YUKAGO basket containing a towel and bath towel.

Restaurant with a Western full-course dinner, breakfast buffet, and low-allergen options

Dinner and breakfast are served at the on-site restaurant Petit Poche. Dinner is a Western full-course meal served in 2 seatings, at 5:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.; the seating time cannot be requested in advance. Breakfast is a buffet from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Children's chairs are available in limited numbers, and the restaurant can warm baby food and lend tableware. Dinner for children under school age costs JPY 4,400 including tax and must be reserved by 2 days before the stay. For food allergies, a low-allergen menu excluding the 28 specified allergenic ingredients can be prepared with notice by 2 days before the stay; the buffet displays only 8 allergen items. The lobby bar Fuji*Sun is open from 9 p.m. to midnight, the Colline souvenir shop is open 24 hours, and the completely private THE SPA by BARAKA is open from 3 p.m. to midnight.

Access and parking

The hotel is about 11 minutes by free shuttle bus from Kawaguchiko Station on the Fujikyuko Line; advance reservation is required. It is about 14 minutes by car from the Kawaguchiko Interchange on the Chuo Expressway and about 16 minutes from the Fujiyoshida Interchange on the Higashi-Fuji-Goko Road. Free parking for 70 cars is available, although surrounding roads can be congested during busy periods, so arriving by train is recommended. From around December through March, snowfall and icy road surfaces are possible, and winter tires or chains are required to be fitted or carried. Check-in is from 3 p.m., and checkout is until 11 a.m.
