Overview
Kawaguchiko Urban Resort Villa is a resort villa on the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchi, with 8 detached cottages that are each rented out to a single group. Every cottage is a spacious 2LDK of more than 80 sq m with its own private garden and views of Mount Fuji and the lake, making it a good fit for three-generation trips and groups. All cottages have a kitchen, a bath and a washlet toilet, and guests are free to bring their own groceries or order delivery. You can also enjoy a charcoal barbecue in your private garden (reservation required) or a winter-only hot pot set. Children who have not yet started elementary school stay free when co-sleeping, so families with young children can settle into this villa stay without holding back.
Private cottages with views of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi
Kawaguchiko Urban Resort Villa is a property on the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchi where each detached cottage is rented out to a single group. All 8 cottages are spacious 2LDK layouts of more than 80 sq m, available in Western-style and maisonette types. Each one comes with its own private garden of about 85-130 sq m, and a spectacular view of the sacred Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi opens up right in front. Because each cottage is booked whole and you never run into another group, families with young children can spread out without worrying about other guests.
Space and features for families and three-generation trips
The cottages have 4 permanent semi-double beds, and sofa beds can be added depending on the size of the group, so there are cottages that sleep 5 to 6 guests. Lavender, in the main building, is a barrier-free, single-floor type with no steps, with handrails in the toilet and in the rooms and a bath chair in the bathroom, making it reassuring for older family members and families with young children. Children who have not yet started elementary school stay free when co-sleeping (no bed), and guests from elementary school age up pay the adult rate.
Note that no children's furniture such as a crib or a baby chair is available, so co-sleeping is the standard arrangement. There is no children's meal menu either, so children share portions from the adults' dishes. A humidifier, thermometer, nail clippers, iron and similar items are available to borrow at the front desk.
A kitchen in every cottage, so meals are up to you
Every cottage has a kitchen stocked with a generous range of cooking utensils, tableware and seasonings, so you can bring your own groceries and cook for yourselves. A microwave, toaster oven, rice cooker, refrigerator-freezer and hot plate are all provided, and there are supermarkets and a bakery nearby. For dinner, you can order a charcoal barbecue set for your private garden (advance reservation required; the grill is set up in the garden under a retractable roof), or a yosenabe (hot pot) set available only from November through March (months 11 to 3). Indoor grilled-meat dining is an option too, and information on delivery menus is also available.
Baths and access
There is no communal bath or onsen on the property, so bathing is in the bath in your own cottage. The baths are not onsen, but some cottages let you soak while looking out at Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi.
