Hotel Cetus Royal is an oceanfront onsen resort a 5-minute walk from Izu-Atagawa Station, standing right in front of Atagawa YOU-Yu Beach. Every room looks out over the sea toward Izu Oshima, and the hotel is proud of its large open-air bath, one of the largest on the Izu Peninsula, and its communal bath with spectacular views. Dinner and breakfast are Japanese-Western buffets, and breakfast is easy for even young children to enjoy with peace of mind. With a pool, a kids' corner and private-hire family baths, it suits an onsen trip with the family.
Rooms
There are 48 guest rooms, all oceanfront, with views out toward Izu Oshima. The Japanese-style tatami rooms are 10 to 12.5 tatami mats and sleep 1 to 5 guests, laid out so you can sit by the window and look out over the sea toward Izu Oshima. The Japanese-Western rooms are 26 sq m corner rooms combining a twin bedroom with two single beds and a 12.5-tatami Japanese-style room; they sleep 2 to 7 guests and offer an even more open view. On the top floor there is also a 12.5-tatami Japanese-Western room with an open-air bath fed directly from the source, but there is only one such room and it can be booked by phone only. Futons in the Japanese-style rooms are self-service, so guests lay them out and turn in whenever they like.
Dining
Dinner is a Japanese-Western buffet where you can eat your fill of dishes made with local ingredients and regional specialties. The dinner buffet cannot accommodate allergies, so please take care if anyone in your party has a food allergy. Breakfast is also a Japanese-Western buffet, with Japanese dishes such as grilled fish and yudofu (simmered tofu) alongside bread and other Western items, so everyone from young children to older guests can eat with peace of mind. Breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., with last entry at 8:30 a.m.
Baths and Onsen
The communal bath uses natural onsen water from the hotel's own source and has spectacular views: Hikoboshi no Yu for men and Orihime no Yu for women, both looking out over Sagami Bay and the Izu Seven Islands. A sauna is also provided, and bathing hours are 3 p.m. to midnight and 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. the following morning. There is also a large open-air bath, one of the largest on the Izu Peninsula, about 100 m from the hotel's main building. In the communal bath, boys (or girls) aged 7 and over or 120 cm and taller cannot use the bath for the opposite sex, and children who are not yet out of diapers use a baby bath instead. Two private-hire family baths, Nozomi no Yu and Senri no Yu, let families enjoy private time together. Each group may use a private-hire bath once, and bookings are taken at the front desk at check-in; they cannot be reserved together with your room booking or in advance by phone or email.

The last check-in is 10 p.m.; arrivals after that are treated as a cancellation, so please take care.
