Pleasure Resort Izu Akasawa Onsen (Akasawa Onsen Hotel) is a hot-spring resort on the coast of Ito, Shizuoka. Akasawa Onsen Hotel, whose rooms are mainly ocean-view, has a natural onsen communal bath, the large indoor amusement facility Pleasure Arena that staying guests can use free of charge, a bowling alley and a day-use onsen building. Rooms range from 39 to 62 sq m and come as Japanese-style tatami, Western-style or Japanese-Western rooms, and with kids' menus and child rates starting at age 4, the hotel is easy for families to settle into.
Rooms
Guests can choose from three room types: Japanese-style tatami, Western-style and Japanese-Western. In the ocean-view main building, standard rooms are 39 sq m for 1 to 5 guests, corner Western-style rooms are 62 sq m for 1 to 3 guests, and Japanese-Western rooms with a bedroom and a Japanese-style tatami area are 62 sq m for 1 to 5 guests, making them well suited to family stays. In the Japanese-style tatami and Japanese-Western rooms, guests lay out the futon bedding themselves, and when 3 guests share a Western-style room, a sofa bed is provided. Rooms with a private open-air bath (Japanese-Western, 39 sq m, for 1 to 5 guests, no view) are in the South Building.

Dinner is served at Kira, the fourth-floor restaurant, as a Japanese kaiseki course built around seasonal ingredients, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Breakfast is a Japanese-Western buffet served from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., with last entry at 9:30 a.m. At dinner, separate kids' menus are prepared for elementary school children and for children who have not yet started elementary school, and on some plans a kids' plate is served as the children's meal.

There is a communal bath and a rooftop open-air bath, where natural onsen water from a 54°C source can be enjoyed from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The communal bath is free for staying guests. The rooftop private-hire open-air bath, Tenkyu no Yu, is booked on the day of use and costs 4,400 yen per hour including tax, available from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Children who are not yet out of diapers (not yet toilet-trained) are asked to use a baby bath rather than the communal bath.
Places to Play
Staying guests have free admission to Pleasure Arena, a large indoor amusement facility that both children and adults can enjoy. It has a 14 m by 20 m inflatable obstacle course, a ball pit and trampolines, and the 5 m-high Big Slider and Tube Slider are open to those at least 120 cm tall. The café inside the facility, Gabuttoria (open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.), has a kids' space. At the Akasawa Bowl bowling alley, one game and shoe rental are free, and the DEEP SEA LOUNGE, with table tennis, billiards and darts, also has free admission. The Akasawa Day-Use Onsen building is free for staying guests to enter, and its Umi no Nekorobi Lounge has a kids' space as well. These facilities included with a stay can also be used before check-in and after checkout.
Family-Friendly Details
Accommodation charges apply from age 4. Some rooms can be arranged as connecting rooms, and a reservation is required. A wheelchair is available to borrow, there is a barrier-free toilet, and meals accommodating allergies can be arranged, though what can be accommodated varies by property, so please confirm in advance. Akasawa Spa, which uses deep-sea water, widened its eligible age range on August 1, 2026, so young children can now use it together with their family. Children of elementary school age and younger must be accompanied by a guardian, admission is free for staying guests during opening hours, and children ages 3 and under enter free. The spa may be unavailable because of house rules or private bookings, so please confirm the details in advance.
Access
About 15 minutes by free shuttle bus from the south exit of Izu-Kogen Station. Parking for 60 cars is free and requires no reservation.
