HOTEL CLAD is an onsen resort hotel set within the grounds of Gotemba Premium Outlets. More than half of its 182 rooms look out on Mount Fuji, and staying guests can use the communal bath, open-air bath and sauna at the adjoining day-use onsen Konohana no Yu free of charge. Children aged 3 and over who have not yet started elementary school and co-sleep, without meals or futon bedding, pay a 1,500 yen child facility-use fee on site. Children under 3 cannot use the communal bath, but there are also private-hire open-air baths in private rooms (for a fee) where a family can bathe on their own. Bed guards are available to borrow free of charge, and a kids' menu is offered as well.
Rooms
The guest rooms are Western-style with Japanese-modern design touches, and every room has a shower booth (no bathtub) and a toilet with a bidet seat. Only the Fuji View Deluxe Twin, Fuji View Deluxe Double and Brooklyn Room have a bathtub in the room. The Double Room (forest side) is 23 sq m with a low double bed 180 cm wide by 200 cm long, which young children can use with peace of mind. When 3 or more guests stay, a sofa bed is prepared. The Superior Rooms on the top floor are 33.3-35.9 sq m and sleep up to 4 guests, and the Fuji View Deluxe Twin is 46 sq m. Cribs are not available, but bed guards are available to borrow free of charge; quantities are limited, so reserving one in advance is recommended.
Dining
Breakfast is for staying guests only, and breakfast, lunch and dinner are all served buffet-style at the restaurant inside the adjoining day-use bathing facility Konohana no Yu. About 50 dishes are laid out, spanning Western, Japanese and Chinese cuisine, and a kids' menu is available too. There is no age restriction, and staff will warm baby food on request. Part of the restaurant can be partitioned off for private use; please contact the hotel for details. Some dishes contain allergens, and while the 8 specified allergenic ingredients are labeled with pictograms, guests are asked to judge for themselves whether a dish is safe for them to eat.
Baths and Onsen
Staying guests can use the adjoining day-use onsen facility Konohana no Yu free of charge throughout their stay, with an open-air bath, indoor baths and a sauna. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., plus an early-morning slot from 6 to 9 a.m. reserved for staying guests. Children under 3 cannot use the communal bath, but they may use the rest areas and the private-hire baths in private rooms (for a fee). Regardless of age, anyone wearing a diaper will be turned away from bathing, and children who are not yet out of diapers are asked to refrain from getting into the tub even in the private-hire baths. The 19 private-hire open-air baths in private rooms are available for an additional charge, and children aged 7 and over cannot bathe together with the opposite sex.
