Hotel Regina Kawaguchiko

Hotel Regina Kawaguchiko is an onsen resort hotel on the shores of Lake Kawaguchi, at the foot of World Heritage-listed Mount Fuji. Its greatest attraction is its setting: every guest room faces Mount Fuji. With no high-rise buildings or anything else to block the view, you can enjoy the mountain beyond the sea of trees from your balcony all day long. From the mountain glittering in the morning sun to its colors at sunset, the views are rated highly by photographers too.

Guest rooms

The guest rooms were renovated in 2024. Room types range from Standard Twins and upper-floor Deluxe rooms to the corner suite The Fuji, Grand Comfort Quad rooms and Japanese-Western rooms, so you can choose to suit your group size and taste. Every room has a Mount Fuji view, and each one has its own bath.

Mamaraku Kids' Room

This special room, limited to one room, is set up for families traveling with babies and young children. Colorful interiors and animals painted on the walls make it a space children can't help but get excited about. It is also stocked with the baby and kids' items you wish you had on a trip, so families with small children can settle in with peace of mind.

Onsen and communal bath

The hotel has an onsen communal bath supplied with water brought from a Lake Kawaguchi spring source, and staying guests can use it free of charge. Baby items are on hand to help families with children, so the whole family can take an unhurried soak.

Family-friendly features

The hotel is set up for multigenerational trips and stays with a baby. Alongside children's slippers, yukata and pajamas available to borrow, the hotel can prepare baby food on request, provides children's tableware, and can bring hot water at 60°C for formula preparation to your room. Strollers are available to borrow free of charge, and bed fences and bed guards are available in limited quantities.

Dining

A chef trained at a renowned traditional ryotei prepares authentic Japanese cuisine rooted in tradition, including a monthly-changing kaiseki menu, at reasonable prices. All-you-can-eat shabu-shabu is also served, as are plans for families and groups that include free co-sleeping, making mealtimes easy to enjoy with children. The hotel has also set out a basic policy for handling food allergies.

Activities and access

Recreational facilities in the hotel include tennis courts and karaoke, both of which carry a fee and require a reservation. The hotel is only 80 minutes from central Tokyo, about 3 minutes by car from the Kawaguchiko IC on the Chuo Expressway, about 5 minutes by car to Fuji-Q Highland and about 45 minutes by car to the fifth station of Mount Fuji, making it a very convenient base for exploring the area around the mountain. Free shuttle service is available from Kawaguchiko Station on the Fujikyuko Line and from the highway bus stop, with advance contact required. Free parking is available for 71 cars.
