Hakone Sengokuhara Prince Hotel is a resort hotel on the Sengokuhara highlands, looking out over the sweeping ridges of the Hakone outer rim mountains and the greenery of the Dai-Hakone Country Club. It has an onsen communal bath and open-air bath fed by the Ubako hot spring, plus a sauna, and every room has a balcony. Children under 6 stay with no room charge when co-sleeping, and children's items such as cribs and diaper pails are available to borrow free of charge, so the hotel is well set up for families with young children.
Rooms
Guest rooms are divided between the Kodachi and Hikari wings. The standard Kodachi and Hikari Superior rooms are 28.9 sq m and sleep 1 to 3 guests, with two beds measuring 110 cm wide by 203 cm long by 45 cm high. The corner Hikari Brillia Modern is 33.3 sq m and sleeps 3, and the top-floor Kodachi and Hikari Premier rooms are 50.5 sq m and sleep 2. The Kodachi Luxury (52.8 sq m) has two sofa beds and sleeps up to 4. When a room is used by 3 or 4 guests, 1 or 2 of them sleep on sofa beds. All rooms are non-smoking, and there are some steps inside the rooms.
Dining
Dinner at the restaurant Grill pairs a main course of your choice with an hors d'oeuvre buffet, and breakfast is a Japanese and Western buffet. There is also the main dining room Plat du Jour, which serves seasonal course menus. The restaurants offer children's courses and children's plates, and food allergies can be accommodated for the 8 specified allergenic ingredients only, with advance notice required. At dinner at Grill, children aged 5 and under can eat from the buffet free of charge. There is no room service.
Baths and Onsen
The hotel has an onsen communal bath and open-air bath fed by the Ubako hot spring, one of the Seventeen Hot Springs of Hakone, and a sauna was added in March 2025. The spring water is a simple onsen. Children wearing diapers are asked to refrain from using the communal bath, and mixed bathing is not permitted for children aged 7 and over. Children who are not yet out of diapers are directed to bathe in the bathtub in their room.

The nearest bus stop, Sengoku Kogen, is a 10-minute walk away, but if you call on arrival, the hotel will pick you up. A free shuttle bus for staying guests also runs from the west exit of Odawara Station, by reservation. Parking for 99 cars is free for staying guests. Depending on availability that day, checkout can be extended for a fee (please ask the day before departure).
