A garden pool on the rooftop of the 3rd floor of the main building. It is open in summer only, with a 25 m long by 13 m wide pool and a circular children's pool 5 m in diameter and 60 cm deep. Staying guests may use it free of charge, including before check-in and after checkout.

Overview

Yumoto Fujiya Hotel is a 3-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station and has onsen baths and 6 restaurants, including Japanese, French and Chinese. Japanese-Western rooms renovated in 2024 and Japanese-style tatami rooms that sleep up to 6 guests on futons make it well suited to family trips. The 2nd floor of the main building has a playroom with picture books and a nursing room, and an outdoor pool is open in summer. Private-hire baths and kids' meal options are available as well.

Rooms

The Japanese-Western Type B rooms in the main building were renovated in 2024. Alongside 2 permanent beds, futon bedding is laid out in the Japanese-style tatami area, so up to 6 guests can stay. The 15-tatami Japanese-style tatami rooms on the 3rd floor of Rainbow Plaza also sleep up to 6 guests on futons, and the roomy tatami space lets you co-sleep with small children with peace of mind. The purely Japanese-style tatami rooms are also a good choice for guests traveling with young children. Rooms on the station side look out over the Hakone Tozan Railway and the arriving and departing Romancecar trains, and these train-view rooms are popular with families. All guest rooms have been non-smoking since March 1, 2025.

Dining

There are 6 restaurants in all: Japanese cuisine, sushi kaiseki, French cuisine, Chinese cuisine, an izakaya and a cafe. Dinner at the Japanese restaurant Himeshara offers Children's Meal A at 5,000 yen, Children's Meal B at 3,000 yen, a children's plate at 1,900 yen, a children's udon set at 1,400 yen and a children's rice set at 850 yen. Same-day orders can also be accommodated, so you can pick the option that suits your child. The French restaurant Vent Vert offers Children's Meal A and Children's Meal B plus the Bambi set at 1,600 yen, and the Chinese restaurant Tokaro offers Children's Meal A and Children's Meal B. Children's prices for the breakfast buffet are 1,800 yen for elementary school children and 900 yen for children ages 3 and over. You may also bring baby food into the restaurants, where staff can provide dishes and warm it for you. Strollers are welcome in the restaurants.

Baths and Onsen

The Hakone-Yumoto onsen water is an alkaline simple spring with a strong beautifying effect on the skin. In addition to separate communal baths and open-air baths for men and women, there are 4 private-hire baths for 2 to 5 guests: 1 large and 3 small. The private-hire baths are up about 30 steps from the entrance to the communal bath. There is no elevator, and using the stairlift requires transferring on foot for a few steps. Rates for 45 minutes are 3,000 yen for the large bath (for 4-5 guests) and 2,000 yen for a small bath (for 2-3 guests). The bathing areas also stock support items such as chairs with backrests, shampoo hats (rinse shields) and baby baths. Mixed bathing with a child of the opposite sex is limited to children under 7 or under 120 cm tall.

Play Areas and Pool

An outdoor pool opens in summer, running from July 15 to August 31 in 2026. It operates in two sessions, from 9 a.m. to noon and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Staying guests may use it free of charge, including before check-in and after checkout. The pool is 25 m long, 13 m wide and 1.00-1.35 m deep, and there is also a circular children's pool 5 m in diameter and 60 cm deep. Children who are not yet out of diapers may use the children's pool if they wear a swim diaper (swim pants). Swim diapers are sold at the front desk for 200 yen each. One bath towel per person can be borrowed at the pool reception.

Access

The hotel is about 90 minutes from Shinjuku Station on the Odakyu Line Romancecar, then a 3-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station. Parking is free with 150 spaces, and the hotel is about 3 km from the Hakoneguchi Interchange on the Odawara-Atsugi Road.
