A children's pool adjoins the indoor heated pool, and there are also a jacuzzi, a reclining bath, an open-air bath and saunas. Children who are not yet out of diapers can use the pool if they wear a swim diaper and a swimsuit. Swimsuits are available to rent at 550 yen for adults and 350 yen for children, and ring floats at 300 yen, while swimming caps are free.

Atema Kogen Resort Belnatio is a resort hotel spread across a highland plateau in Tokamachi, Niigata. Every bath at Atema Onsen - the communal baths, the open-air baths and the private-hire bath - is equipped with a baby bath and a baby chair, making it easy to bring a baby into the onsen. Room types to suit families of any size are spread across several buildings, including the main building, the annex, the cottages and Carnelia. The Twin Room is 35 sq m for 1 to 3 guests, with two beds measuring 120 cm wide by 205 cm long; a sofa bed can be added when three people stay. The Family Room, a Japanese-Western room, is 53 sq m for up to 5 guests in the main building and 54 sq m for up to 6 guests in the annex, with twin beds and a 6-tatami Japanese-style tatami room where up to 3 futons can be laid out. The Friends Room is 58 sq m for 1 to 4 guests, with a shared living room and four private bedrooms. The cottage is a two-story building of 94 sq m, and the second-floor bedroom has a skylight for looking up at the stars. All guest rooms are non-smoking, and cribs are available to borrow.

Breakfast is a Japanese, Western and Chinese buffet served at venues such as Cosmos, the symphonic dining hall in the forest, at 3,740 yen for adults, 2,618 yen for elementary school children and 1,870 yen for children who have not yet started elementary school, from age 3. The buffet menu cards label the 8 major allergens, and if you send a questionnaire sheet in advance, the hotel will do its best to accommodate your requests at both dinner and breakfast. Baby food menus for 7 months, 9 months and 12 months are prepared free of charge at each dining venue and served at dinner and breakfast. You may also bring your own baby food into your room. The dinner buffet has a kids' menu created in collaboration with Mikihouse Child-Rearing Research Institute, prepared so that even children who dislike vegetables find it easy to eat.
Baths and Onsen
Atema Onsen is a brown, alkaline simple onsen with a pH of 8.9, gentle enough for babies to bathe in with peace of mind. There are two communal baths, Furusato no Yu in the main building and Utsukushi no Yu in the annex, along with two open-air baths, and on the 7th floor of the annex there is the private-hire family bath Hinoki no Yu (1,980 yen, 45 minutes, reservation required). Every communal bath and the private-hire bath has a baby bath, a baby chair, a water thermometer and full-body baby soap, and the changing rooms have a diaper trash bin, baby wipes and a baby bed. Children aged 8 and over, or 120 cm and taller, may use only the bath for their own gender.

Access
Free shuttle buses run from JR Echigo-Yuzawa Station and JR Tokamachi Station, by reservation made by 5 p.m. on the day before your stay. By car it is about 20 minutes from the Shiozawa-Ishiuchi IC on the Kan-etsu Expressway via Prefectural Route 76. Parking is free for staying guests, on a first-come basis for 200 cars, with no advance reservation needed. This is a snowy region in winter, so snow tires or chains are recommended from late November until around early April.
