Overview

Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Shima Saichoraku is an oceanfront onsen hotel overlooking Ago Bay. From October 1, 2026 to February 28, 2027, the stay is all-inclusive, and this period may be extended. Alongside Japanese-style tatami rooms and Japanese-Western rooms, there are rooms with "Kids Room" in their name, Superior Triple rooms and Japanese-style tatami rooms for up to 6 guests. The restaurant provides baby food free of charge and has children's tableware and chairs. The changing rooms of the tatami-floored communal baths have baby beds, and the communal bath facilities also include baby baths, baby chairs, children's chairs and diaper bins. There is no private-hire bath.

Rooms

Alongside calm Japanese-style tatami rooms and spacious Japanese-Western rooms, the hotel has ocean-view rooms and themed rooms. Two room types carry "Kids Room" in their name: the Standard Japanese-Style Kids Room (a 48.4 sq m tatami room for 1 to 6 guests) and the Superior Japanese-Western Twin Kids Room, which is 56.5 sq m and set for 1 to 5 guests. For larger groups, there is a two-room Japanese-style garden-side type (59.8 sq m, 1 to 7 guests) and the Standard Japanese-Style Room for 6, which comes in a 30.9 sq m version and a 33.7 sq m garden-view version, both for 1 to 6 guests. There is also the Standard Japanese-Style Room for 5 (29.2 sq m, 1 to 5 guests) and the Superior Triple (30.4 sq m, 1 to 3 guests). Rooms with an open-air bath include the Junior Suite Twin with Open-Air Bath, the Superior Japanese-Western Twin with Open-Air Bath and the Superior Japanese-Style Room with Open-Air Bath. Of these, the Japanese-style room sleeps 1 to 6 guests, the Japanese-Western twin 1 to 5, and the junior suite twin 1 to 2. The water in the in-room baths is not onsen water. The glamping area has large tents with wood decks. Its Twin Room for 4 is 24 sq m for 1 to 4 guests, and the hotel's facility guide classifies it as an extra-charge facility. The glamping tents have no bath, toilet or TV. Toilets and washbasins are shared, so children need to walk over to use the toilet. Glamping guests use the main hotel for meals and the communal baths. Room sizes cover the whole room, including the entryway and toilet.

Dining

Breakfast and dinner are both served at the buffet restaurant Voyage, and there is no in-room dining. Dinner runs from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Time slots cannot be reserved in advance; guests are seated in order of check-in. The restaurant provides baby food free of charge; just ask the staff if you would like some. Children's tableware and chairs are also available in the restaurant. On food allergies, Ooedo Onsen Monogatari's guidance clearly states that individual allergy-friendly meals are not provided, though you may bring your own safe food and tableware. On plans that include crab, a deluxe grilled seafood platter or a local brand-beef steak, those dishes are served only to children of elementary school age and over.

Baths and Onsen

The spring water is an alkaline simple onsen drawn from the Shin-Misato Onsen source. The communal baths, Shiokaze no Yu and Suzukaze no Yu, are tatami-floored baths with saunas, said to let everyone from small children to older guests bathe with peace of mind. The communal baths and the panoramic open-air bath Yunagi no Yu alternate between men and women. The communal baths and open-air bath are open from 3 p.m. to midnight and from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m., and the saunas from 3 p.m. to midnight and from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. (except while the baths are drained for cleaning). Children aged 7 and over, or 120 cm and taller, use the bath for their own gender. This rule may change in future, for example through revisions to local ordinances. The changing rooms of both the men's and women's communal baths have baby beds, free of charge. The communal bath facilities include baby baths, baby chairs, children's chairs and diaper bins (the diaper bins are not provided in the guest rooms). There is no private-hire bath. Whether children who are not yet out of diapers may get into the tubs is not stated, so please confirm with the hotel. Guests with tattoos may use the communal baths only if the tattoos can be fully covered with the hotel's designated cover seals, which are sold for a fee.

Family-Friendly Features

Children aged 2 and under are booked without being counted as guests. Let the hotel know through its inquiry form how many such children are coming and whether they need bedding. Children aged 3 and over who have not yet started elementary school are charged, and are booked under the category that includes meals and futon bedding. A futon for a child under 3 can be added for an additional 2,200 yen, with advance notice required. Because of room size, futons cannot be provided if your party would exceed the capacity of the room you booked. No information is published about cribs for guest rooms. There is a free kids' corner in the hotel, and children's yukata are provided free of charge. The outdoor pool is open in summer only, and its 2026 season has ended.
