From late July through August, the ryokan holds a fish-catching contest (1,500 yen for adults, 1,000 yen for children) and runs a shuttle to a swimming beach on an outlying island (1,500 yen for adults, 1,000 yen for children), along with bingo tournaments (500 yen per card) and a festival-style shooting gallery (500 yen). Events may be canceled depending on the weather, the number of participants and other factors.

Overview
Todaya is an onsen ryokan a 3-minute walk from Toba Station in Ise-Shima. The highlight is Todaya Onsen Village, where guests can tour 13 baths across the men's and women's areas, along with a live-kitchen buffet known for its filleting show of local fish. Children, including young children, are welcome to stay, and baby and kids' items such as baby chairs, baby baths and nap futons are available to borrow free of charge. In summer, an outdoor pool with a children's pool 50 cm deep also operates.
Rooms
There are 168 guest rooms in total, in a wide range of types including Japanese-style tatami rooms, Japanese-Western rooms, Western-style rooms and Japanese-Western rooms with an open-air bath. Beds in the twin rooms and Japanese-Western rooms measure 190 cm wide by 100 cm deep, while those in the deluxe Japanese-Western rooms, Western-style triples and Japanese-Western rooms with an open-air bath measure 190 cm wide by 120 cm deep. The South Wing deluxe Japanese-Western rooms, recommended for three-generation trips and groups of women, sleep up to 13 guests. No rooms are set aside exclusively for children, but barrier-free rooms are available among the South Wing Western-style triples and in the Watatsumi no Sho rooms at Kishuntei.
Dining
Breakfast is a Japanese and Western buffet served from 7 to 9 a.m. For dinner, you can choose between the live-kitchen buffet Shinwa Dining Ten-Chi-Kai, popular for its filleting show of local fish; kaiseki cuisine at the revolving observation restaurant Kochi to Umi; and in-room dining, available only at Kishuntei. The buffet venue has a kids' corner, and while elementary school children and children who have not yet started elementary school eat from the same buffet as adults, you can also order a kids' meal for 2,200 yen or a Chibikko Plate for 1,320 yen. With the kaiseki cuisine and in-room dining, elementary school children receive meals equivalent to the adults' and children under school age receive their own dishes comparable to a kids' meal. Baby food can be ordered as well, at 880 yen for the 7-month stage and 550 yen for the 5-month stage, and staff will wash and sterilize baby bottles. For allergies, dishes at the buffet venue are marked with color-coded stickers, while at the revolving observation restaurant and for in-room dining you need to get in touch in advance using the allergy inquiry form.

The pride of the ryokan is Todaya Onsen Village, with 13 baths across the men's and women's areas, 2 footbaths and 18 ganbanyoku (heated-stone sauna) beds. There are 5 free private-hire baths, which you can use freely without a reservation between 6 a.m. and midnight, plus 2 more private-hire baths for a fee, at 3,300 yen for 45 minutes by reservation. The communal baths inside the building are heated water rather than onsen, while the outdoor Todaya Onsen Village, made up of the open-air baths and the free private-hire baths, is onsen. No age restriction is set for babies using the communal bath, but the floors are slippery, so please take care.

Children, including young children, are welcome to stay, and rates are set according to age and whether meals and bedding are included. Junior high school students and older pay the same as adults, elementary school children pay 70% of the adult rate, and children under school age — ages 4 up to the start of elementary school, with meals and bedding — pay 50%. Access
The ryokan is about a 3-minute walk from Kintetsu and JR Toba Station, and Toba Aquarium, Mikimoto Pearl Island and the Toba Bay cruises are all within walking distance. The shuttle bus from Toba Station has changed from a circular service to a service that runs on request by telephone. There is free parking on the grounds with space for 100 private cars. Late checkout is available depending on room availability.
