Kusatsu Onsen Kusatsu Now Resort Hotel is a large resort hotel in Kusatsu Onsen, at an elevation of 1,200 m. The communal bath has an indoor bath and an open-air bath fed straight from the source, with a baby chair available, and there is also a private-hire open-air bath where you can enjoy the onsen just with your family. The indoor pool is open year-round, and children who are not yet out of diapers can use it as long as they wear a swim diaper. Twin rooms can be changed to a Hollywood twin layout with the two beds side by side, so families with young children have room options that suit them.

Standard Twin rooms are 26 to 28 sq m and sleep 1 to 3 guests. The beds are two at 110 cm wide plus one at 92 cm wide, and a sofa bed is prepared when three guests share the room. The two beds can also be placed side by side as a double, in what the hotel calls a Hollywood twin. The Triple with Open-Air Bath uses 120 cm-wide beds and can be set up as a Hollywood twin or a Hollywood triple, which is why it is recommended for families with young children. The Japanese-Western room combines twin beds with a Japanese-style tatami space of about 6 tatami mats; for three or more guests, futon bedding is laid on the tatami, and the room sleeps up to 4 guests, of whom up to 3 may be adults. The Japanese-Western Luxury with Open-Air Bath has two beds on a flat tatami space and comes with an open-air bath, and it is presented as a room for family trips. The Bunk Bed Room has a loft-like niche at the top of a ladder, described as a room that brings back the excitement of childhood.

There are four restaurants: a Japanese-Western-Chinese buffet, a French restaurant, a Japanese restaurant and a Chinese restaurant. The buffet venue Jurin Garden is open from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., with last entry at 8 p.m. As for children's rate categories, children aged 4 and over are booked in a category that includes both meals and bedding, while children aged 0 to 3 are eligible for categories with either meals or bedding, or with neither. It is in the annex, and reaching it involves 20 steps up to the entrance, 17 steps down from the changing room to the bathing area and 3 steps at the bathing-area entrance, so take care if you are with a young child or using a stroller. A baby chair is available in the communal bath and can be used freely. As for bathing with a baby, most guests bathe without any problem, but Kusatsu's water is a strongly acidic spring, so children with sensitive skin may develop irritation; if you are concerned, a shower alone is an option, or you can rinse the onsen minerals off with a shower after bathing. Families who want the onsen to themselves can also use the private-hire open-air baths, five in all with tubs of hinoki cypress and Shigaraki ware, open 24 hours and reserved at the front desk.

By car, it is about 90 minutes from the Shibukawa-Ikaho IC on the Kan-Etsu Expressway, or about 80 minutes from the Usui-Karuizawa IC on the Joshin-etsu Expressway. By train, it is about 25 minutes by JR bus from Naganohara-Kusatsuguchi Station on the JR Agatsuma Line to the Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal, or about 75 minutes by public bus from Karuizawa Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Kusatsu Onsen (Bus Terminal); from the bus terminal, a free shuttle bus reaches the hotel in about 5 minutes. Outdoor parking has about 100 spaces, free of charge and with no reservation needed. Yubatake is about a 15-minute walk from the hotel, or about 5 minutes with the free shuttle bus.
