All 8 guest rooms are Japanese-style tatami rooms. Rooms
There are 8 guest rooms in total, all Japanese-style tatami rooms. Two of them have a bath, but it is not fed by the hot spring. The 17-tatami room overlooking the Yubatake has a bath and toilet and can be used by 1 to 8 guests, so it suits larger family trips as well. The 8-tatami room has a toilet and is designed for 1 to 3 guests. There is no elevator in the building, so guests staying in rooms on the upper floors need to go up and down the stairs.
Dining
Meals are served in the dining room Takimitei, which is non-smoking. For dinner, the head chef, who trained at a ryotei (a traditional fine-dining restaurant) in Kyoto, makes their own seasonings and prepares the dashi stock, giving the dishes a firm, well-developed flavor. At breakfast, the warm rice porridge cooked on the spot is a favorite, served alongside seasonal mountain vegetables, grilled fish and miso soup. On plans that include breakfast, the dishes cannot be changed for allergies such as an inability to eat eggs or dairy products.

The spring water is an acidic, sulfur-containing spring, 100% from the Yubatake source and flowing directly from it, and it is gentle on the skin and mellow. There is one men's bath and one women's bath, plus a free private-hire family bath that can be used at any time when it is vacant. Day-use bathing is available from noon for 800 yen, with towels not included, and non-staying visitors can use the private-hire bath for 1,200 yen per adult per hour.

Access
Take the JR bus from Naganohara-Kusatsuguchi Station; the ryokan is a 4-minute walk from the bus terminal. Free parking is available for 15 cars. The Shiga-Kusatsu Road (National Route 292) is closed in winter, from November 17 to April 25, and from December onward you need snow tires or must carry chains. Kusatsu Onsen Ski Resort is nearby, 5 minutes by car, with shuttle service available. Skis, ski wear and snowboards are also available to borrow at the ryokan.
