Kusatsu Hotel 1913 is a long-established ryokan founded in 1913 (Taisho 2), housed in a three-story wooden building that still carries the character of its early years. Alongside an open-air bath and a communal bath fed by the Sainokawara and Bandai spring sources, there are 3 private-hire baths available by reservation, so families can enjoy the onsen together without worrying about other guests. Co-sleeping is accepted for children up to age 5, and there are set rates for elementary school children and for babies and toddlers. Rooms
The standard room is the Japanese-style tatami room with futon bedding: 30 sq m and 10 tatami mats, sleeping 1 to 5 guests. The private-hire baths can be reserved after check-in, and each session lasts 45 minutes: 1,650 yen for 1 to 2 guests, or 2,200 yen for 1 to 4 guests. There are also guest rooms with an in-room indoor onsen bath, where the tub is filled fresh each time so you can enjoy the water at the temperature you prefer.

It is 25 minutes by JR bus from Naganohara-Kusatsuguchi Station on the JR Agatsuma Line, and a 10-minute walk from Kusatsu Bus Terminal, with a free shuttle to the bus stop. The shuttle is arranged by phone and runs until 6 p.m. There is free parking for 40 cars on the property. Parking is available from 10 a.m. on the day of check-in and until 2 p.m. on the day of checkout.
