Kaze no Kaori Umi is a Japanese-style luxury ryokan in Ito, Shizuoka, facing the Sagami Sea, with 20 rooms that all have ocean views. Every room is a Japanese-Western room of more than 60 square meters with its own open-air onsen bath and a hinoki cypress indoor bath. Up to 2 children can co-sleep, and children aged 3 and over stay at 50% of the adult rate with meals and bedding included. The restaurant has a fully private tatami room that puts parents of young children at ease, and the private-hire onsen baths on the top floor are free of charge and can be used as often as you like.
Rooms
All 20 rooms are Japanese-Western rooms of more than 60 square meters, each with its own open-air onsen bath with a spectacular view and a hinoki cypress indoor bath. The beds are a Hollywood twin arrangement of two single beds side by side, each 110 cm wide, 200 cm long and 21 cm high. Pushed together, the two beds can also be used like a double bed. Rooms whose adjoining room is a Japanese-style tatami room sleep up to 4 guests, while the Western-style type sleeps up to 3. Floors 4 and 5 are the Standard Floor, floors 6 and 7 are the High Floor, and the 8th floor is the Top Floor, with a free self-service bar counter for staying guests only.
Dining
Dinner is served at Shiosai on the 2nd floor or Sokai on the 9th floor. Elementary school children are normally served the same menu as adults, but you can switch them to a kids' plate free of charge. The restaurant also has a fully private tatami room that puts parents of young children at ease (up to 4 guests, 3,000 yen per group, and it can only be guaranteed at dinner). If you would like, both dinner and breakfast can be served in your room for 5,000 yen per person. Dishes accommodating food allergies can also be arranged; please discuss this when you book.

Family-Friendly Features
Up to 2 children can co-sleep. Children from age 6 (already in elementary school) through age 12 are treated as elementary school children and pay 70% of the adult rate, while children aged 3 and over pay 50% of the adult rate with meals and bedding included. Children aged 2 and under are treated as co-sleeping without bedding or meals, and no charge applies. When booking, you need to enter your children's ages in the remarks field. Some plans that include a beauty treatment are limited to high school age and over, and the only children who may come along are those aged 2 and under who stay free of charge. The building has an emergency staircase (an outdoor staircase) for every 2 rooms, designed so that it can be reached from a guest room within 5 seconds.
Access
The ryokan is about 5 minutes by taxi from Ito Station, along National Route 135. The taxi fare from the station is covered up to 1,400 yen per group, settled when you show the receipt at the front desk. There is free parking for 18 cars on the 1st floor of the hotel.
