An outdoor onsen pool about 50 m around. Within the one pool there are 10 kinds of spots, including jacuzzi baths, reclining baths, a rapids section and Mizu Basshaan ("water splash"), and the overall layout also includes a Kids Spa area for children. Babies and toddlers who are not yet out of diapers can use it as long as they wear swim pants. It opens for limited periods: in 2026, July 17 to August 30, and Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from September 4 to October 12.

Hotel Sun Valley Nasu is an onsen resort where 9 lodging buildings are spread across extensive grounds in Nasu Kogen. The choice of rooms is wide, covering Western-style, Japanese-style tatami, Japanese-Western, triple, maisonette and connecting rooms, along with the detached-style cottages of Fukuro no Mori and the villa-style The Cottage, so families can pick what suits their numbers. Breakfast and dinner are both buffets, with a kids' menu, baby food, and children's chairs and tableware. Cribs and bed guards are available to borrow, and an outdoor onsen pool that children can enter in swim pants opens for a limited season.
Rooms
Nine lodging buildings, each with its own character, are spread across the grounds, with 298 rooms in total. The Forest Villa maisonette Japanese-Western room is 39.9 sq m, with a Western-style twin room on the first floor and a 4-tatami Japanese-style tatami room on the mezzanine. Queens Corina has 43 sq m Japanese-Western rooms, and Garden Suite has Japanese-Western rooms as well as an 8-tatami Japanese-style tatami room. The Annex offers single, double, twin and triple rooms, plus connecting rooms in part of the building (reservation required). Fukuro no Mori is a cluster of 30 detached-style cottages scattered through the forest, and The Cottage is a 90 sq m villa-style building. At Garden Suite, the route from the front desk to the rooms runs along long corridors with many stairs, so it does not suit strollers. The main building is closed for renovation work and is scheduled to reopen in October 2026.
Dining
Breakfast and dinner are both buffets served in the restaurant, and there is no in-room dining. Dinner offers about 70 dishes and breakfast about 40, with live cooking corners as well. The buffet includes a kids' menu, and jarred baby food is provided free of charge (samples are on display in the venue, and you simply ask a restaurant staff member). Baby chairs, child chairs, a portable bassinet for laying an infant down, trays, disposable bibs, and spoons, forks and chopsticks can all be borrowed at the restaurant. The menu cards note the major allergens, and if you contact the hotel in advance you can receive an allergy chart at check-in. On the all-inclusive plans at the Forest Villa building, drinks at dinner and breakfast, drinks at the bar, a late-night snack and some of the in-house amusements are included in the room rate.
Baths and Onsen
The spring water is a sulfur spring, along with a mixed spring that combines a weakly alkaline spring and a magnesium spring. The communal baths open to staying guests are Yudokoro Hinoki at Oriental Garden and Mori no Yu at Forest Villa, but on days when one of these buildings is closed, its own communal bath is closed too, and which building is open changes from day to day. Yuyu Tengoku, the onsen zone in the main building, opens only for limited periods (in 2026, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from September 4 to October 12). There is no private-hire bath. There are 27 rooms with an open-air bath in all, and in some of them the water flows straight from the source. Infants may bathe in the onsen when accompanied by an adult. The communal baths are separated by gender, though children up to age 6 or under 110 cm tall may use the opposite-gender communal bath, and a height guide is posted at the bath entrance. The communal baths and public spaces have children's bath chairs, diaper bins and diaper-changing tables, which are also set up in the men's and women's changing rooms at Aqua Venus. Guests with tattoos cannot bathe.

Children's rates go by age band: elementary school children pay 70% of the adult rate, and children from age 3 who have not yet started elementary school pay 50%, both with meals and bedding, while ages 0-2 pay a facility usage fee of 3,300 yen including tax for co-sleeping without meals or bedding. If you apply directly through the hotel's website, ages 0-2 are 0 yen for stays from April 1, 2025 (this does not apply to the one-night-with-breakfast, room-only or day-use plans). The limit on co-sleeping children differs by plan and room: plans where the room type is left to the hotel allow up to 2 children, and Annex double rooms up to 1. Access
It is about 20 minutes from the Nasu IC on the Tohoku Expressway, following Nasu Kaido toward Yumoto, or about 40 minutes by free bus from the west exit of Nasushiobara Station (reservation required). Parking has 500 spaces and is free for staying guests. Check-in is at 2:30 p.m. and checkout is at 10 a.m. (check-in at the Annex building is from 4 p.m.). In winter, Nasu Onsen Family Ski Resort is 20 minutes away by car and Mount Jeans Nasu Ski Resort 30 minutes, with a shuttle to the latter. The hotel's website also has an English version.
