Rooms
Quintessa Hotel Sasebo is a city hotel in central Sasebo with spacious guest rooms, all at least 20 sq m. The Deluxe Double is 23 sq m, one of the largest in Sasebo, with one 140 cm-wide double bed. There are also two Japanese-style tatami rooms, of 17.5 and 9 tatami mats, where one child of elementary school age or younger can co-sleep per adult. In room types with a double bed or larger, one child up to elementary school age can co-sleep per bed at no charge, but co-sleeping is not available in the Standard Twin or the Standard Four Bed. One crib is available, and humidifiers are also available to borrow.
Dining
Breakfast is served at the restaurant Marina Holiday as a buffet of home-style cooking made with pesticide-free, organically grown vegetables. Hours are 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., with last orders at 9:30 a.m. Breakfast costs 1,500 yen for adults, 850 yen for elementary school children and 550 yen for children from age 4 up to elementary school age. If a co-sleeping child has breakfast, a separate charge applies: 800 yen for elementary school children, 500 yen for children under school age, and free for children ages 3 and under. Room service is not available.
Baths
There is no communal bath, so bathing is in each room's own bathroom. The bathtub is large enough to stretch out your legs, making it easy for a parent and child to bathe together.
Family-friendly notes
There is no indoor pool or outdoor pool, and no babysitting service is offered. Slippers and other in-room items come in adult sizes only, with nothing prepared for children. Because there is only one crib, whether you can use it depends on availability.
Access
The hotel is 3 minutes by car from the Sasebo-chuo Interchange and 5 minutes by car from JR Sasebo Station, and 80 minutes by bus from Nagasaki Airport, followed by a 2-minute walk from the Shimasecho bus stop.
