Naniwa Issui is a 23-room onsen ryokan on the shore of Lake Shinji. Every room faces the lake, and 20 of them have an open-air bath or a view bath. Children are welcome, and those aged 0 to 1 can stay with co-sleeping. The ryokan prepares toddler meals and children's tableware, takes requests regarding food allergies, and lends baby items such as a reclining high-low chair and a diaper-only trash bin. There is also a baby bath in the communal bath. Dinner and breakfast are served in private dining rooms.
Rooms
Of the 23 rooms in the ryokan, 20 have an open-air bath or a view bath, and 10 are barrier-free, universal-design rooms. Every room faces Lake Shinji, and the size and capacity vary by room type. Room 201 has 104.53 square meters of private space and sleeps 5 guests, while Mizu no 1 and Mizu no 2 sleep 2 guests plus up to one co-sleeping child under school age. Beds can also be changed to a Hollywood twin or twin bed layout on request.
Dining
Dinner is served from 6 p.m., with last seating at 7:30 p.m., and breakfast from 7:30 a.m., with last seating at 9 a.m.; both are served in private dining rooms. The dining venue is barrier-free, with no steps and with sliding doors. For children, a toddler meal set can be arranged with advance reservation, pairing Shimane specialties such as Shimane wagyu beef and sashimi with the familiar dishes children love, and iiwan children's tableware and Vgrip cutlery are available as well. Requests regarding food allergies and religious dietary needs can also be discussed, and must be made at least 4 days before the date of your stay.
Baths and Onsen
Matsue Shinjiko Onsen, which rises on the shore of Lake Shinji, is a natural onsen drawn from 1,250 meters underground at 77.2 degrees Celsius. There are separate communal baths and open-air baths for men and women. There is no private-hire bath, so if you want to bathe just as a family, you will need to choose a room with an open-air bath or a view bath. Guidance for the communal baths and open-air baths asks that children of roughly 7 and over not bathe in the bath of the opposite gender, and a baby bath is set up in the communal bath. Day visits for bathing only are not available.

Access
The address is 63 Chidori-cho, Matsue, Shimane, about 10 minutes by car from JR Matsue Station. It is an 8-minute walk from Matsue Shinjiko Onsen Station on the Ichibata Electric Railway, and a free shuttle to that station is available with a reservation. There is no shuttle to JR Matsue Station. Parking is a free surface lot with 40 spaces, and no reservation is needed.
