Overview
Kamogawakan is a hot-spring ryokan a 3-minute walk from Kamogawa Sea World in Kamogawa, Chiba. Two different onsen, the seaside Shiosai no Yu and Nagisa no Yu from the satoyama hills, can be enjoyed in the communal baths, the rooftop onsen pool and the semi-open-air baths in guest rooms. On the 4th floor, a Kids Care Room stocked with children's supplies and toys is available, and children ages 0 to 2 stay free of charge. A garden pool is also open in summer. With in-room dining, private dining rooms and a kids' meal, families can pick the dining style that suits them.
Rooms
The renovated guest rooms come in 8 types across 23 rooms, 20 of which have an onsen semi-open-air bath. On the top floor, the 8th, the Japanese-Western room with an onsen semi-open-air bath is 58 sq m for up to 5 guests, where you can soak in the onsen while looking out over the vast Pacific. The Indoor Terrace Japanese-Western Room Plus on the 4th floor is 56 sq m, with low beds 25 cm high and 120 cm wide arranged as a Hollywood twin, which is reassuring for families with small children. The Friendly Room, of which there is only one, is a 52 sq m room for up to 4 guests with an onsen semi-open-air bath and a terrace that can be entered while remaining in a wheelchair. For dinner you can choose the style you prefer: a kaiseki course at the private dining restaurant Yoshidaya overlooking the Japanese garden, in-room dining at your own pace, or the chef's live dining MAIWAI, which needs no advance reservation. The kids' meal is a Japanese-Western selection with tuna sashimi, simmered kinmedai (splendid alfonsino), bite-size steak, karaage (Japanese fried chicken) and chawanmushi (savory steamed egg custard), priced at 3,850 yen including tax. At dinner, children in the upper grades of elementary school are served dishes equivalent to the adult menu, while children in the lower grades and children under school age booked with meals receive the kids' meal. Food allergies must be reported when booking, by 5 p.m. the day before, and for the 7 specified allergenic ingredients guests are asked at check-in to confirm the arrangements and sign for them.
