Guests also mention relaxing in the warm seawater at the private beach behind the hotel. On the other hand, one reviewer points out that dinner is an adult-oriented kaiseki (multi-course Japanese) meal, and their elementary school sons disliked many of the dishes.

At dinner there is a kids' meal and a younger kids' plate. Bed guards and high-low chairs (height-adjustable baby seats) are limited in number, so you need to contact the hotel in advance. Rooms

The detached Hanakan wing has 4 rooms, Sakura, Fuji, Hagi and Tsubaki, and every one has its own open-air bath fed straight from the source. Fuji is 68 sq m, Hagi is 72 sq m and Tsubaki is 68 sq m. Depending on the plan, Fuji can be booked for 1 to 6 guests and Sakura for 1 to 5.

In the main building, several room types sleep up to 5. The Special Japanese-style tatami room is 60 sq m with 14 tatami mats and sleeps up to 5. The Japanese-Western room is 56 sq m, with an 8-tatami area and 2 beds, and sleeps up to 5. The Japanese-style tatami room has 10 tatami mats and sleeps 2 to 5. The Japanese-style tatami room with a semi-open-air bath has a 10-tatami main room and a 4.5-tatami adjoining room. The Top Floor Japanese-Western room with an open-air bath is 75 sq m, with 2 beds and a 6-tatami area, and sleeps up to 5.

The Special Japanese-style tatami room is described as a spacious tatami room that is easy to use with small children, but it has stairs and steps inside. The Japanese-Western room is a Western-style room with an 8-tatami area, handy for families where someone would rather sleep on a futon than in a bed. Other rooms include the Royal Suite (91 sq m, up to 4 guests), Top Terrace 501 (up to 2 guests), the Standard Twin (26 sq m, with 2 beds and 1 extra bed) and the barrier-free Universal Twin Room, usable directly from a wheelchair (up to 2 guests). The in-room bath in the Japanese-style tatami room with a semi-open-air bath uses heated water, and the in-room bath in the Top Floor Japanese-Western room with an open-air bath is not onsen. Rooms in the main building have a few steps inside.

Contact the hotel by email or phone when booking or up to 3 days before your stay, and they will accommodate you as far as they can.

Baths and Onsen

At Perla no Yubune, the onsen facility in an annex on the grounds, staying guests can use the communal baths (Umi no Yu, and Yama no Yu / Mori no Yu) free of charge throughout their stay, while ganbanyoku (heated-stone sauna) and the private-hire baths carry a fee. The communal baths are open early in the morning from 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The men's and women's baths swap daily, and the spring water is a simple spring. There is no age restriction for the communal baths, but the onsen water makes the floors slippery, so children should be accompanied by a guardian who keeps an eye on their footing. Children may enter the bath for the opposite sex up to age 7, and the communal baths have no particular facilities for children. Ranbo no Yu has 5 private-hire baths, which staying guests can use for a flat 1,800 yen per bath. Along the passage connecting the main building and Hanakan there is also Pearl no Yu, a mid-sized natural onsen bath for small groups, open from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to midnight, so you can use it after Perla no Yubune closes or before you set off in the morning.
