Overview

Aso Farmland Asohealth no Mori is a large dome-shaped hotel complex in Minamiaso, Kumamoto. Located in the Aso Farmland health and wellness theme park's Asohealth no Mori accommodation area, it offers three room zones: Royal, Village and Dream. Families can enjoy the large-scale Aso Volcano Onsen, with 15 types of baths and separate 1,000-tsubo bathing areas for men and women, as well as the outdoor Genki no Mori athletic course, Fureai Animal Kingdom, wellness facilities and health pavilions throughout the day.

Aso Farmland in Minamiaso, Kumamoto, is a giant health and wellness theme park comprising the Asohealth no Mori accommodation area and the Aso Genki no Mori day-use area. It is about 50 minutes by car from the Kumamoto Interchange and about 40 minutes from Aso Kumamoto Airport. Free parking is available exclusively for staying guests.

The accommodation buildings are dome-shaped hotels with three zones for different purposes.

Baths and Onsen

The Aso Volcano Onsen (Hi no Yama Onsen) has separate bathing areas for men and women, each measuring 1,000 tsubo, and is a Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare-certified health-promotion facility based on an onsen-use program. Its 15 types of baths include a 100% source-water large communal bath and a medium bath (shallow, suited to half-body bathing), a jacuzzi, open-air bath, sauna with a forest-bathing theme at 80-90°C, cold-water bath, steam sauna, napping sauna with low-temperature nap facilities, medicinal-stone steam sauna and reclining bath. The large onsen complex is connected by a 150 m wooden walkway. The types of spring water contain magnesium, calcium and sodium, with reported benefits for neuralgia, joint pain, skin disease and arteriosclerosis.

Activities and Experiences

The property offers an extensive range of activities, including the outdoor Genki no Mori athletic course, Health Pavilion I and II for health and fitness measurements, 13 types of health-promoting thermal kilns, enzyme bath, Dome Reduction Bath, Magma Clay Spa, Oxygen Dome with high-concentration oxygen, Iwakusayoku (a herb-and-stone heated bath), doctor fish and Fureai Animal Kingdom, where guests can interact with and feed guinea pigs, sheep, turtles and chinchillas. The Aqua Area offers touching experiences with leopard sharks and rays, along with displays of rhinoceros beetles and stag beetles from around the world. Dining options include several restaurants and venues, such as Dai Aso Restaurant, Kinoko Restaurant (Aso Kinoko-tei), Kitchen Studio, noodle venues, Yatai Village and Big Farm.
