There are two family baths, Ichi-no-yu with a hinoki cypress tub and Ni-no-yu with a cut-stone tub, and the changing rooms have plenty of space, so they can also be used for bathing with small children. There is no elevator, so the stairs are the only way to get around. The ryokan is built on a slope along the river, and in this traditional layout you always have to use the stairs to go from your room to the baths or the dining area. There are handrails, but the stairs are steep.
