The ryokan is part of the Gekkoen group and is connected to its neighboring sister property, Gekkoen Korokan, by Gekko Bridge, allowing guests to enjoy the onsen at both properties. The onsen is Arima's renowned sodium-chloride spring water at 100% purity, with an open-air bath along the Takigawa River and 3 private-hire baths at the sister property for families to enjoy together. Gekkoen Korokan also has spacious communal baths, Kinpa-no-Yu and Ginpa-no-Yu, with indoor baths, open-air baths, and saunas. Bathing hours at Yugetsu Sanso are from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to midnight; at Korokan, they are from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. to midnight.

Rooms
The ryokan mainly offers Japanese-style tatami rooms with 8, 10, or 12 tatami mats, entrance areas, and enclosed veranda spaces in a pure Japanese-style building dating from the early Showa period. The VIP suite Kyokusuitei has a private open-air bath. Humidifiers and air purifiers are available to borrow in guest rooms.

Dinner is generally a creative Japanese buffet at the buffet restaurant Tsuki no Kura. The half-buffet style combines 2 specially selected main dishes, a beef dish and seasonal sashimi, with a buffet. About 50 kinds of dishes are offered each month, including local Hyogo vegetables, home-style dishes, and seasonal seafood and meat dishes. The live kitchen serves freshly prepared tempura and sushi. Colorful sweets and dishes popular with children are also available, allowing families to enjoy their meals comfortably together. Guests staying in the special-room category Kyokusuitei with an open-air bath are served a full kaiseki meal in their room, prepared with Kobe beef and seafood from the Seto Inland Sea.
