Overview
Kamenoi Hotel Arima is a hotel where you can soak in kinsen (Arima's iron-rich golden spring water) in the communal baths, drawn from the hotel's own Atagoyama spring source. Several tatami rooms are available, including 8-mat and 10-mat Japanese-style tatami rooms and a Japanese-Western room with a bath, so the family can sleep side by side. For dinner, elementary school children are served a Kids' Kaiseki and children under school age a Kids' Gozen set meal. Children's rates fall into three age bands, with ages 0 to 2 at 1,650 yen. The entire property is non-smoking, and there is no coin laundry.
Rooms
There are 68 guest rooms. Alongside the 8-mat Japanese-style tatami room (32 sq m, up to 4 guests) and the 10-mat Japanese-style tatami room (39 sq m, up to 5 guests), there is a Japanese-Western room with a bath (42 sq m, up to 5 guests) that combines a 6-mat tatami room with a twin room, so children can play on the tatami while you settle in. The Japanese-style twin room (32 sq m, up to 3 guests) has Simmons beds set on Ryukyu tatami, and when used by 3 guests, one set of futon bedding is laid on the tatami. The rooms with beds are the Comfort Twin with a shower booth (30 sq m, up to 3 guests), the Superior Twin with a bath (32 sq m, up to 4 guests), the Standard Twin (28 sq m, up to 3 guests), the Standard Double (15 sq m, up to 2 guests) and the Standard Double with a bath (16 sq m, up to 2 guests, with one bed 140 cm wide). When a room is used at full occupancy, the Japanese-Western room adds futon bedding, the Comfort Twin and Standard Twin add a folding bed, and the Superior Twin adds either a day bed or a folding bed. In the Japanese-style tatami rooms (8-mat and 10-mat), the futons are set out folded, so if you would like them laid out in advance, please say so when booking. All guest rooms are non-smoking, and there is a smoking area on the 1st floor. Humidifiers are available to borrow, and some rooms come with an air purifier.
Baths and Onsen
There are 2 communal baths, filled with natural onsen water from the hotel's own Atagoyama spring source: kinsen, the golden spring water. The spring water is a high-temperature iron-bearing sodium chloride strong-salt spring, and because it is so hot, water is added to the source water. Staying guests can bathe from 11 a.m. to midnight and from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. Whether children who are not yet out of diapers may enter the tubs is not stated, so please confirm in advance. There is no sauna. No information about a private-hire bath could be found, so if you need one, please check with the hotel before booking. Three room types have an in-room bath fed with kinsen straight from the source, so you can bathe with your children without worrying about other guests: the Kinsen Kakenagashi Premium Japanese-Western room for 5 guests (59 sq m), the same room for 4 guests (52 sq m), and the corner-view version (40 sq m).

The number of children who may co-sleep varies by plan and room: up to 1 on the Standard Double with a bath plans, and up to 4 on the 8-mat Japanese-style tatami room plans. The bathing tax is 150 yen per night for ages 7 and over, and there is no bathing tax for children under 7. The front desk sells kits for a mystery-solving game at 1,000 yen per kit, for children of elementary school age and above, taking about 30 to 45 minutes. Kits are sold from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., and answers are accepted from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Get off at Arima Onsen Station on the Kobe Electric Railway; by car it is 10 minutes from Arimaguchi IC on the Kita-Kobe Route of the Hanshin Expressway. Parking consists of an outdoor surface lot and an underground self-park lot with 38 spaces, free for staying guests. Note that the No. 2 parking lot across the street is closed for construction from March 1, so staying guests are directed to the main building's underground parking only. The underground parking has a height limit of 2.1 m, and when it is full, guests are directed to spaces on the grounds or to nearby pay parking. Call the hotel after you arrive at Arima Onsen Station on the Kobe Electric Railway, the Hankyu Bus Terminal or the JR Bus Terminal and a free shuttle will pick you up. The shuttle also runs back to those same three points; reserve at the front desk, and it departs every 20 minutes from 9 a.m. Check-in is from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., checkout is at 10 a.m., and the doors close at 11 p.m. Note, however, that apart from some plans such as the room-only plans, the final check-in time is 6 p.m., so please contact the hotel if you will arrive after 6 p.m.
