Three communal baths offer 16 different bathing experiences, and baby chairs and baby soap are provided in the communal baths and private-hire baths. A summer-only outdoor children's pool and playroom are available, along with young-child items available to borrow, such as diaper bins and baby chairs; quantities are limited. It is about 30 minutes by car from Sendai Station, with a free shuttle bus also available. Children under age 1 have no admission charge.

Rooms

Guest rooms are divided into four types: Hakubai-tei, Kobai-tei, Shin-Hakubai-tei and Shin-Kobai-tei. Hakubai-tei and Kobai-tei have 10-tatami Japanese-style rooms, while Shin-Hakubai-tei has a 12.5-tatami Japanese-style room; capacity ranges from 1 to 6 guests. Every room has an air purifier with a humidifying function. Only 3 rooms have semi-open-air baths. Yaeasahi is a Japanese-Western room with 2 beds and an 8-tatami Japanese-style room, while Musashino combines a 10-tatami Japanese-style room with a living room and an octagonal semi-open-air bath. Rooms with beds are also available among the rooms with semi-open-air baths, Japanese-Western rooms and in the Annex. Some rooms have low-floor beds on tatami flooring; take care around the step when moving into the Japanese-style room. The number of children permitted to co-sleep varies by plan, with some plans allowing up to 2 children and others up to 5.

Dining

Dinner is generally a Japanese set meal served in a restaurant or large dining hall, from 6 p.m. to around 8:30 p.m. Breakfast is a Japanese and Western buffet served from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Children's dinner is a Japanese set meal similar to the adults' meal, while children under school age are served a kids' meal with items such as Hamburg steak and rolled omelet. The elementary school child rate is 70% of the adult rate. For children from age 1 to under school age, the charge is from 2,200 yen to 3,300 yen depending on whether meals and bedding are included. Children under age 1 are charged 1,100 yen for bedding only; when neither meals nor bedding is needed, the stay is free of charge. Some plans serve meals at Omoinomama, a dining venue with semi-private seating and spacious areas, where families can relax without worrying about those around them. The hotel can accommodate allergies within the range it is able to prepare, if advised when booking. Same-day requests cannot be handled. If complete removal of an allergen is required, the hotel cannot provide the meal; guests may bring suitable food and eat it at the dining venue. Baby chairs are available in the dining area.

Baths and onsen

The three communal baths, Suishinkyo, Getsukyuden and Umenosho, offer 16 different bathing experiences, including hinoki baths, ceramic baths and open-air rock baths. Saunas are available at Getsukyuden and Umenosho, but not at Suishinkyo. There are 3 types of private-hire bath, available for a fee and reservable only after arrival on the day of use. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 11:45 p.m., and prices start at 2,750 yen for 45 minutes. Baby chairs and baby soap are provided in the communal baths and private-hire baths. Face towels and bath towels are supplied in guest rooms, so guests need to bring them from their rooms when going to the baths. Some guest rooms have onsen semi-open-air baths, but these are not open-air baths with an expansive open setting.
