Disney Hotel Family Rooms Compared: Disneyland Hotel Prices, Ambassador and Toy Story Hotel Capacity and Layouts, and Nearby Hotels

Note: Counts such as "more than 500 properties" come from the facility data of hotels listed on Kids Stay (as of September 2026, not the total number of hotels in Japan)
When a family of five or six sets out to stay at a Disney hotel in Tokyo, the first question that stops everyone is simple: which room actually fits all of us? Family Room, Junior Family Room, rooms for four... the names sound alike, but each hotel counts capacity and co-sleeping children differently, and many of these rooms cost more than ¥100,000 a night. Here we line up the capacity, size and beds from the official room pages side by side, along with 2026 price estimates and the six-person rooms at nearby hotels, so you can compare everything in one place.

hotelOur pick
A Tokyo Disney Resort Partner Hotel about a 7-minute walk from Shin-Urayasu Station, with the 67㎡ "Family 6" room for up to 6 guests and Japanese-Western style rooms for up to 5 or 6. It is certified as a "Welcome Baby" inn, and cribs and strollers can be borrowed free of charge.
Tokyo Disneyland Hotel is the Disney hotel with a room named "Family Room"
There are six Disney hotels, but the one where you can confirm a room actually named "Family Room" in the official room guide is Tokyo Disneyland Hotel (as of September 2026). Disney Ambassador Hotel, Toy Story Hotel and Celebration Hotel also have rooms a family can share, but the names and maximum capacity are different.
Family rooms at all six hotels in one table
Here are the capacity and size figures from the official room pages, narrowed down to the family-oriented rooms. Capacity means the number of people using a bed; children of elementary school age or younger (roughly age 12 and under) who co-sleep are counted separately.
| Hotel | Family room | Capacity (using beds) | Size | Co-sleeping (elementary age or younger) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tokyo Disneyland Hotel | Family Room (Park View) | 5 | 93㎡ | Check official site |
| Tokyo Disneyland Hotel | Junior Family Room | 4 | Check official site | Check official site |
| Disney Ambassador Hotel | Triple Room (3 regular beds) | Check official site | 45㎡ | Up to 3 |
| Disney Ambassador Hotel | Palm Garden View Room (1 double + 1 cruise bed) | Check official site | 74㎡ | Up to 2 |
| Disney Ambassador Hotel | Chip 'n Dale Room | 3 | Check official site | Up to 2 |
| Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta | Triple Room | 3 | 43㎡ | Up to 3 |
| Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel | Deluxe Alcove Room and others | 5 | Check official site | 1 per regular bed |
| Toy Story Hotel | Standard and Superior rooms for 4 | 4 | 27 to 30㎡ (Standard) | Up to 2 per room |
| Celebration Hotel | Quintet Room (Discover wing) | 5 | 29㎡ | Up to 2 per room |
The table makes one thing clear: at Disney hotels, rooms for five are limited to the Disneyland Hotel's Family Room, Celebration Hotel's Quintet Room, Fantasy Springs Hotel's Deluxe Alcove Room and a few others. How many co-sleepers you can add depends on each room's bed setup, so for the Disneyland Hotel rooms it's safest to check the official room page.
Capacity counts people in beds; co-sleeping kids are extra
All six hotels define capacity the same way: the number of people sleeping in that room's beds. Separately, children of elementary school age or younger may co-sleep, one per regular bed. Trundle beds (pull-out beds), alcove beds (beds set into a wall nook) and cruise beds (beds made from the sofa) cannot be used for co-sleeping.
On Japanese Q&A sites, you'll also see people asking whether two adults and four children could stay in the Disneyland Hotel's Junior Family Room. Even in the same room, which family shapes fit depends on your kids' ages and how you split them up, so it's safest to check the number of beds and the co-sleeping limit on the official room page before you book.
At Disney hotels, count "people using a bed + one co-sleeper per regular bed" to see whether you fit in one room.
Family Room and Junior Family Room at Tokyo Disneyland Hotel
What confuses most people looking into Disneyland Hotel family rooms is the difference between the Family Room and the Junior Family Room. Size, capacity and price each step up a level, so deciding by your family's head count first makes the choice easier.
hotelThe Disney hotel right in front of Tokyo Disneyland
Besides the Family Room and Junior Family Room, it has a baby care room and lends cribs for babies under 18 months
Family Room: 93㎡, up to 5 guests, Park View
The Family Room is a 93㎡ Park View room for up to 5 guests, in a twin-type layout. Check the bed setup and co-sleeping limit on the official room page.
Compared with the Superior Rooms for 2 or 4 guests (48㎡ / 40㎡), it's roughly twice as large. If three generations are traveling together, that extra space is worth more than anything.
At the Disneyland Hotel, rooms for three or four add trundle beds, alcove beds or cruise beds, and some guests say these are a little small for adults. One option is to have an elementary-age child sleep in the alcove bed while the adults use the regular beds.
Junior Family Room: up to 4 guests
The Junior Family Room is a family room for up to 4 guests. Check the size, bed setup and number of co-sleepers on the official room page.
Watch out for the view and sales periods. How views and floors are handled differs by room type. Once your dates are set, check first whether the room type you want is on sale, and you'll save yourself from having to choose all over again.
Price estimates and how the location (Park View) is decided
Prices change with the season and when you book, and the official online reservation site is the final word. With that in mind, here are estimates from a guide site that compiled 2026 rates (per room).
| Room | 2026 estimate |
|---|---|
| Family Room (Park View) | high ¥130,000s to low ¥200,000s |
| Junior Family Room | mid ¥80,000s to ¥140,000s |
The same rate table showed a tendency for October through December to be pricier than other months. The Family Room is a Park View room type, but the floor and window direction need to be checked on the official room page, so it's safest to assume that how much of the park you can see will vary from room to room.

At Disney Ambassador Hotel, the Triple Room and character rooms suit families
Even if you look up the Ambassador Hotel's family room, you won't find a room named "Family Room" in the official room guide. For families, the options are the Triple Room with three regular beds, the spacious Palm Garden View Room, and the character rooms.
hotelThe Disney hotel about an 8-minute walk from the south exit of Maihama Station
It has Triple Rooms and character rooms, plus Chef Mickey, the buffet where you can dine with Disney friends
Triple Room (45㎡) and Palm Garden View Room (74㎡)
The Triple Room is 45㎡ with three regular beds. Children of elementary school age or younger can co-sleep, one per regular bed, up to three in total, so the more young kids you have, the better it works.
If you want a bit more space, the Palm Garden View Room (74㎡) is the one to look at. It has one double bed and one cruise bed, and up to two children of elementary school age or younger can co-sleep in the double bed (the cruise bed can't be used for co-sleeping).
Character rooms: 3 guests plus 2 co-sleepers
There are also character-themed rooms such as the Mickey Mouse Room (The Sorcerer's Apprentice), the Minnie Mouse Room and the Stitch Room. The Chip 'n Dale Room holds 3 guests in beds plus 2 co-sleepers (elementary age or younger), with two regular beds and one trundle bed. If your child is looking forward to a character room, it may only be sold with specific plans, so check how it's being sold before you book.
Check prices and availability on the official reservation site
Character rooms cost more than standard rooms and may only be sold with specific plans. Prices change with the season and when you book, so checking the rate and availability for your dates on the official online reservation site is the reliable way.
If you want a character room, check availability and the plans on sale on the official reservation site as soon as booking opens.
Family-friendly rooms at Toy Story Hotel, Celebration Hotel, MiraCosta and Fantasy Springs
If you search for a Toy Story Hotel family room, you won't find a room by that name. In the official room list as of September 2026, Toy Story Hotel's maximum capacity is 4 guests. Even so, families of five or six can stay by combining this with co-sleeping.

Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel

Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel
Toy Story Hotel: up to 4 guests plus 2 co-sleepers
Every room at Toy Story Hotel is decorated on the theme of Andy's bedroom. Rooms for three have two regular beds and a trundle bed; rooms for four add a pull-down bed as the fourth bed. Standard Rooms are 27 to 30㎡ (check the official site for the size of Superior Rooms).
Co-sleeping is for children of elementary school age or younger, one per regular bed, up to two per room. So a family of six with two adults and four children of elementary school age or younger fits in a room for four with two co-sleepers. That said, the room is only about a third the size of the Disneyland Hotel's Family Room (93㎡). With luggage and strollers to park, it can be less stressful to keep the option of two rooms open rather than squeezing all six in.
Celebration Hotel: the Quintet Room for up to 5
Celebration Hotel is connected to the parks by a free shuttle bus. The Discover wing has the Quintet Room for up to 5 guests (29㎡, two regular beds, one daybed and one bunk bed), which is its family room. Co-sleeping is one child of elementary school age or younger per regular bed, up to two per room.
Celebration Hotel does not serve lunch or dinner and has no room service. Think of it as a hotel just for sleeping, with dinner in the park or around Maihama Station, and planning your day becomes easier.
Staying as five at MiraCosta or Fantasy Springs
Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta has no room named Family Room in its official room list. For families, the Triple Room (43㎡, 3 guests in beds, up to 3 co-sleepers of elementary school age or younger) is the one to consider. At Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel, rooms on the Springs Side such as the Deluxe Alcove Room hold up to 5 guests.
Family rooms and Japanese-style rooms at nearby Official and Partner Hotels
Disney hotel family rooms rank near the top for both price and difficulty of booking. That's why it's worth comparing Tokyo Disney Resort's Official Hotels and Partner Hotels. Some have rooms for six or Japanese-Western style rooms where you sleep on futons, and for families with babies these can actually be easier to use. In Kids Stay's listing data (as of September 2026), we list 19 properties around Disney, gathered on our Disney area page.
Partner Hotels offer rooms for 6 and Japanese-Western style rooms
Among the Partner Hotels around Shin-Urayasu Station, Hotel Emion Tokyo Bay and Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay are linked to the parks by the Partner Hotel Shuttle, no reservation needed (Urayasu Brighton is directly connected to Shin-Urayasu Station).
| Hotel | Family room | Capacity | Size |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hotel Emion Tokyo Bay | Family 6 | 4 to 6 | 67㎡ |
| Hotel Emion Tokyo Bay | Japanese-Western Room Type A / Type B | Up to 5 / Up to 6 | 57㎡ / 60㎡ |
| Urayasu Brighton Hotel Tokyo Bay | At Home Room | 4 to 6 | 52㎡ |
| Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay | Maman Deluxe | Up to 6 | 42㎡ |
Hotel Emion Tokyo Bay's Family 6 is 67㎡ and sleeps 4 to 6. If your little one is crawling or toddling, a Japanese-Western room with tatami (woven straw mat) flooring means no worries about falling out of bed, and much easier nights. Urayasu Brighton Hotel Tokyo Bay's At Home Room sleeps up to six using bunk beds and a daybed, and Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay's Maman Deluxe fits six beds.

Choose an Official Hotel for closeness to the parks
The Official Hotels in Maihama have the advantage of being closer to the parks than Shin-Urayasu. Tokyo Bay Maihama Hotel First Resort has the Deluxe Family Room (50㎡, 4 to 6 guests) themed on "a pop-up picture book world, " and the Comfort Family Room with two sinks (49.8㎡, 4 to 6 guests). It's about 10 minutes by free shuttle bus from the south exit of Maihama Station.
Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel has the "Treasures Room, " a concept room with bunk beds, and the "Japanese Suite, " a Japanese-Western style room for 2 to 5 guests. Its indoor heated pool includes a shallow pool, so kids can play at the hotel before or after the parks.
With a baby, choosing by whether there's a tatami Japanese-Western room or a bathroom with a separate washing area, rather than by capacity alone, is less likely to go wrong.

For 6 in one room, big rooms at nearby hotels
Rates at nearby hotels swing a lot from day to day, so the reliable way is to compare them with Disney hotel family rooms for the same dates. For families who think "we don't need the perks, we just want everyone in one room, " a big room at a nearby hotel is the realistic answer. We sort Maihama and Urayasu hotels that work well with kids, one by one, in our Disney family hotel feature.

Can 6 stay together, co-sleeping, and when booking opens
Finally, here are three things families of five or six often trip over right before booking.
For a family of 6, the room depends on "people using a bed"
Disney hotels do not allow more guests than the room's capacity. A comment on one YouTube hotel tour says "even in a room for four, if you push the beds together five or six can fit, " but the plan details on Rakuten Travel clearly state that stays over capacity are not allowed. The counting is simple. You only need to look at two things.
- People using a bed (adults, children of junior high age or older, and younger children who will sleep in their own bed)
- Children of elementary school age or younger who will co-sleep (up to the number of regular beds)
For example, a family of six with two adults and four children (two of them elementary age or younger and co-sleeping) is 4 in beds plus 2 co-sleepers, which fits in a room for four at Toy Story Hotel. A family of six who all want their own bed will need a room for six at a nearby hotel.
The booking category for co-sleepers, and different age rules at nearby hotels
At Disney hotels, a child who co-sleeps must be booked in the "infant (no meals or bedding)" category, even if they are in elementary school. If you enter the numbers wrong, your party may end up too large for the room you booked, so check the categories on the booking screen carefully.
Here's the blind spot: the co-sleeping age differs from nearby hotels. At Disney hotels, co-sleeping covers children of elementary school age or younger, but at Hotel Emion Tokyo Bay, Urayasu Brighton Hotel Tokyo Bay and Tokyo Bay Maihama Hotel First Resort, co-sleeping is only for preschoolers, and elementary schoolers count the same as bed-using adults. The more elementary-age kids you have, the more Disney hotels' generous co-sleeping rule pays off, so comparing with nearby hotels on price alone won't add up.
Booking opens at 11:00 a.m. on the same date four months before your stay
According to the official site, Disney hotel reservations open on the online reservation site at 11:00 a.m. (Japan time) on the same date four months before the stay. If the opening month has no matching date, booking opens at 11:00 a.m. on the 1st of the following month (for example, stays on October 31 open at 11:00 a.m. on July 1). Check the latest rules in the reservation information on the official site.
For family rooms, it all comes down to whether one is free the moment booking opens. So you don't panic if you miss out, keep big rooms at nearby hotels on your list too. Staying in Maihama also lets you leave things at the hotel, which cuts down a lot on what to pack for Disney with kids.
Before booking, write down three things: "people using a bed," "number of co-sleepers" and "the hotel's co-sleeping age rule."

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the Junior Family Room and the Family Room?
At the Disneyland Hotel, the Junior Family Room holds up to 4 guests, and the Family Room is a 93㎡ Park View room for up to 5 guests. Check the bed setup and co-sleeping limit on the official room page. Going by the 2026 rate table estimates, the Family Room costs tens of thousands of yen more.
Can I choose a Park View for the Disneyland Hotel's Family Room?
The Disneyland Hotel's Family Room is a Park View room type. Check the floor, window direction and how views are handled for the Junior Family Room on the official room page. It's also a good idea to confirm before booking that the room type you want is on sale for your dates.
Can five people stay in a room for four at the Disneyland Hotel?
A fifth person using a bed cannot stay in a room for four. However, if the fifth person is of elementary school age or younger, they can co-sleep, one per regular bed, so a family of five may be able to stay in a room for four. If everyone will use a bed, you'll need the Family Room for five.
How many Family Rooms does the Disneyland Hotel have?
The official room page doesn't list the number of rooms. Large family rooms tend to fill up for long weekends and school holidays, so it's safest to check availability right after booking opens.
