Every property page on Kids Stay is written by consulting several primary sources directly. We prioritize the facts that matter to families — age limits, whether children who are not yet potty trained may use the baths, baby food, what baby equipment is available — with the aim of giving you what you actually need when it comes time to book.
Our source hierarchy
- The official website (primary source) — Where a property has an official website, we treat it as the first authority, checking rooms, baths, family facilities, age limits and opening periods against what the property itself states. For some smaller properties without their own website, such as pensions and whole-house rentals, we work from the booking platforms below.
- Rakuten Travel (booking, availability, reviews) — We use the Rakuten HotelDetailSearch API and property pages. This is where dynamic information such as rates, availability and review scores comes from.
- Jalan — We consult Jalan to fill in facilities, house rules and guest reviews that the official site does not cover. For some properties we also check other booking platforms, such as Yukoyuko, Ikyu, JTB and Yahoo! Travel, as secondary references.
- Miki House Child Research Institute certifications— For properties certified as a "Welcome Baby" hotel, we check the certification list directly. We do not reproduce the certification marks or other images; we state the fact of certification in text only.
How we verify
- Before a new property is published, we read the relevant pages on the official site and the booking platforms ourselves and check every family-related fact one at a time.
- Each property page shows a last-verified date, so you can see when the information was confirmed.
- Where a property has closed, is being rebuilt or is shut for an extended period, we state the situation on the page and remove it from search results.
- Dynamic information such as rates, availability and review scores is refreshed regularly from the Rakuten Travel API.
- If you find anything wrong or out of date, please tell us through the contact form. We will check it and update the data.
