Shirahama Onsen Hotel Sanrakuso is a Nanki-Shirahama onsen ryokan a 1-minute walk from Shirarahama Beach, with ocean views from every room. Children age 0 stay free of charge, and there are children's rates for elementary school children and for children who have not yet started elementary school, as well as a kids' meal. A baby bed is installed in the changing room of the communal bath, and children's items such as a diaper pail and bath toys are available to borrow free of charge. Rooms
Every room has an ocean view, and the hotel is a 1-minute walk from Shirarahama Beach. Room types range from Japanese-style tatami rooms to tatami rooms with beds and Western-style rooms. The renovated tatami rooms on the 4th and 7th floors are 10 or 12 tatami mats and sleep up to 5 guests. In the bed-equipped rooms of Nami no Aya on the 6th floor and the special rooms of Hama Suisho on the 8th floor, the beds can be joined together if you request it by the day before. In the Hama Suisho special rooms, futon bedding (Muatsu Sleep Spa) is provided for the third guest and beyond. Every room has a bath, except the ReFa rooms among the standard rooms. Mashirano on the 9th floor and Hama Suisho on the 8th floor have 22 rooms in total with open-air baths fed directly from the source, and some rooms in Nami no Aya on the 6th floor have a Mira Bath.
Dining
Dinner is served in one of four places depending on the plan: Restaurant Waku Waku, the private dining rooms on the 5th floor, Aoi on the 8th floor, or in your room. Elementary school children are served kaiseki cuisine with fewer courses, while children who have not yet started elementary school receive a kids' meal, and extra à la carte items for children, such as udon, can also be ordered. The kids' meal features Kumano beef Hamburg steak, karaage (fried chicken) made with Wakayama-brand chicken and mandarin juice, and the Panda meal for younger children comes with a panda-shaped rice ball. At mealtimes, children's chairs, portable bassinets and children's tableware such as spoons and forks are provided. Allergies can be discussed if you notify the hotel at least 3 days before your stay, limited to the 8 specified allergens: shrimp, crab, wheat, buckwheat, egg, milk, peanuts and walnuts. Guests with severe symptoms may also bring safe foods of their own, such as retort-packaged or frozen items. Pregnant guests can have raw dishes changed to cooked ones if they request it at least 3 days in advance.
Baths and Onsen
The communal bath offers two onsen with different types of spring water, both flowing directly from the source: Fuji no Yu, which wells up on the mountain side, and Tsukumoto no Yu, which wells up on the sea side. Hours are 3 p.m. to midnight and 5 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., with the men's and women's baths alternating. A baby bed is installed in the changing room. The changing room is on the 2nd floor and the bathing area on the 1st floor, with about 15 steps down to the baths. There is no private-hire bath and no sauna. The rooms in Mashirano on the 9th floor and Hama Suisho on the 8th floor have open-air baths fed directly from the source, which families can use when they want the onsen to themselves. Guests with tattoos need to bring their own cover seals and may bathe only if the tattoo can be covered.

In summer, the outdoor sailing-ship pool Luana operates, and children who are not yet out of diapers can use it wearing a swim diaper with a swimsuit over it. There is no lifeguard on duty at the pool, and children of junior high school age and under must be accompanied by a guardian. Guests can move around the building in a wheelchair, but the rooms themselves are not barrier-free, and the outdoor pool has stairs as well. A hospital is about 5 minutes away by car should a child become unwell.

Shirarahama Beach is about a 1-minute walk away, and Nanki-Shirahama Airport is about 10 minutes by car. Parking is free for 70 cars, and valet service is free as well. The nearest Lawson is about a 3-minute walk away, and a FamilyMart and a 24-hour supermarket are within a 10-minute walk. Family-friendly spots are close by too, including Shirahama Energy Land, about a 3-minute walk away. The Nanki-Shirahama Onsen shuttle bus from JR Shirahama Station ended service on May 10, 2026, and guests are now directed to local buses, with Hashiriyu the nearest stop, or to taxis.
