Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Shirahama Saichoraku is a ryokan in the Nanki Shirahama Onsen area of Wakayama, part of the Ooedo Onsen Monogatari group. Its draws are the Ooedo Three-Star Buffet, with fresh fish delivered straight from the market and Japanese Black wagyu beef, and open-air baths surrounded by nature. There is a kids' corner with a ball pit, a trampoline and a climbing wall, along with kids' rooms fitted with play equipment, and children's tableware, yukata and bathing items are all provided, so the ryokan is easy to spend time in even with young children. An outdoor pool is available in summer.

Rooms
Guest rooms come in a wide range of types, including Japanese-style tatami rooms and Japanese-Western rooms, ranging from 29.6 sq m to 83.1 sq m. Every room on the 5th floor has an open-air bath. The smallest is the Standard Japanese-style tatami room (3-guest capacity), at 29.6 sq m for 1 to 3 guests; the Standard Japanese-style Kids Room with play equipment is 63 sq m for 1 to 6 guests; and the Japanese-Western Twin Kids Room is 50 sq m for 1 to 4 guests. The Superior Japanese-Western Twin with an open-air bath is 83.1 sq m for 1 to 7 guests. Note that none of the in-room open-air baths are fed by the hot spring. Children ages 2 and under can be booked without being counted in the number of guests, while from age 3 you need to choose a child rate that includes meals and futon bedding. If you add a futon for a child under 3, an additional 2,200 yen applies. Humidifiers are also available to borrow for guest rooms.

The signature offering is the Ooedo Three-Star Buffet, made with premium ingredients such as fresh fish delivered straight from the market and Japanese Black wagyu beef. At the live kitchen you can watch the cooking show right in front of you, and a kids' space is set aside for young children. The restaurant provides children's tableware and chairs as well as baby food. Breakfast includes seafood rice bowls topped with wild bluefin tuna and other Japanese dishes, along with a generous selection of Western dishes such as eggs Benedict, plus a house-made red-fleshed melon smoothie served only at breakfast.
Baths and Onsen
Nanki Shirahama Onsen is a celebrated hot spring with a long history, and the communal bath is floored with tatami, so families with children and older guests alike can bathe with peace of mind. There is an indoor bath as well as an open-air bath. In summer the communal bath Raku no Yu can be used in swimwear, reached by climbing the stairs straight up from the pool. The private-hire bath is available from 3 p.m. to midnight, at 1,000 yen for 45 minutes; advance reservations are not accepted, and bookings are taken until 11 p.m. on the day of use. The bathing areas have a baby bath and a baby chair, and children's yukata are available too. Children ages 7 and over, or children who are at least 120 cm tall, use the bath designated for their gender. Guests with tattoos may bathe only if the tattoo can be covered with the hotel's designated tattoo cover seal, for which a fee applies.

In summer - from July 18 to August 31, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. - an outdoor pool is also available. Parking is available for 100 cars, free of charge and with no reservation required. Direct round-trip buses also run from Kyoto Station, Shin-Osaka Station and the area in front of Tennoji Station. The location is convenient for sightseeing spots such as Adventure World, where you can get close to animals, about 15 minutes away by car.
