Dining
Every morning the owner or the head chef goes to the auction at Sakaiminato across the water, or to the landing site of the Mihonoseki large fixed-net fishery, to buy the fresh fish and shellfish for the seafood kaiseki. The signature dishes are the crab courses featuring the winter flavors of the San'in region: matsuba crab (November through late March) and beni-zuwai crab (mid-September through June). Breakfast is served in the great hall of the cultural-property main building, with sashimi of shiroika squid and silver salmon, dried local fish, shijimi clam miso soup from Lake Shinji, and white rice grown in the black soil of Mount Daisen. Kids' kaiseki courses and allergy accommodations can also be arranged.
Support for families with children
The ryokan can provide children's yukata, pajamas and slippers, children's tableware, baby food on request, free stroller rental, and rentals including bed fences and bed guards (limited in number), cribs and humidifiers. Fishing rods and bait are also available to borrow free of charge, so the family can try fishing in Miho Bay right in front of the ryokan.
Rooms
The new wing has 17 rooms, mainly Japanese-style tatami rooms, all with a shower toilet and free Wi-Fi. Rooms face either the mountain side or the sea side, and the sea-side rooms look out over Miho Bay and Mount Daisen. The annexes Hanare, Zakuro and Tsukina Rikyu are each rented to just one group per day, offering a private stay in a cultural-property older building, a renovated 100-year-old traditional house, or a secluded standalone house.

It is about 30 or 40 minutes from Yonago IC via National Route 431, depending on the route, and about 15-20 minutes by taxi from Yonago Airport or Sakaiminato Station. A shuttle runs from Sakaiminato Station and Shichirui Port for 2,000 yen per group, and from Yonago Airport and Manbara Bus Terminal for 2,500 yen per group (reservation required; it may be unavailable during busy periods). Parking is free for 50 cars, and there is also a covered garage, a wheelchair-accessible elevator, wheelchair parking spaces and a wheelchair-accessible shared restroom.

Miho Shrine, the head shrine of the god Ebisu, is a 1-minute walk away; the Aoishidatami-dori stone-paved street begins right at the door; Mizuki Shigeru Road is about 20 minutes by car; the National Treasure Matsue Castle is about 45 minutes by car; and Izumo Taisha Shrine is about 90 minutes by car - all of which makes the ryokan a handy base for sightseeing in San'in.
