You lock the door from the inside, and they are open to use freely until 11 p.m., though you may have to wait at busy times. Because they are private-hire, you can bathe with a young child without worrying about other guests. The spring water is a sodium-calcium chloride spring, and staying guests pay a separate bathing tax and bathing charge of 430 yen per night.

There is no elevator to the guest rooms on the second and third floors, so you will need to use the stairs.
