Shonen Jidai, whose washing area is tatami-matted, has plenty of space for families. On the 22nd of each month the private-hire onsen becomes the Ahiru-chan Bath, with 200 rubber ducks floating in the water, and 100 ducks can also be lent to you on request. The spring water is a neutral, hypotonic sodium-calcium chloride spring, flowing straight from the source.

Baths and Onsen

Barairo no Jinsei ("a rose-colored life") is a roomier bath, its mosaic tiles recalling a Showa-era public bathhouse; Shonen Jidai ("boyhood") has a tatami-matted washing area with plenty of space for families; and Usagi no Dansu ("the rabbits' dance") is painted with figures from the Choju-giga animal scrolls. If a bathroom is free you can lock the door and take whichever you like, with about 50 minutes per bath as a guide (the baths can generally be used from 6 a.m. to midnight). The spring water is a neutral, hypotonic sodium-calcium chloride spring, flowing straight from the source, and is said to be good for neuralgia, sensitivity to cold and recovery from fatigue. On the 22nd of each month, the private-hire onsen turns into the Ahiru-chan Bath, with 200 rubber ducks floating in the water. If you ask, 100 ducks can also be lent to you, which makes for a memorable bath on a child's special day.

Colorful yukata are available to borrow, and guests report having been able to borrow yukata for children as well. The inn is about 5 minutes from Kinosaki Onsen Station by the ryokan association's free bus, and free parking is provided.
