Fairfield by Marriott Kyoto Kyotamba is about 5 minutes by car from the Tamba IC on the Kyoto Jukan Expressway, right next to the Kyotamba Ajimu no Sato roadside station. All 75 rooms are non-smoking twin or king rooms averaging 25 sq m, and the bathrooms have a shower booth only, with no bathtub. Co-sleeping is free for one child of elementary school age or younger per adult, but no children's amenities are provided, so you will need to bring your own. There is no restaurant on the property, and breakfast is available only as a boxed breakfast reserved in advance.
Rooms
All 75 guest rooms are non-smoking and average 25 sq m. There are two types: a non-smoking twin room with two beds 120 cm wide, and a non-smoking king room (25 sq m) with one bed 180 cm wide. Accommodation plans include a children's rate. The beds are made by Simmons and support good-quality sleep, and each room has a 49-inch TV, a refrigerator, a safety box and an electric kettle, with free Wi-Fi. The bathroom has only a rain-shower booth and no bathtub, and it is separate from the toilet.
Dining
There is no restaurant on the property, and stays are room-only as standard. If you would like to add breakfast, a breakfast box filled with obanzai (Kyoto-style home-cooked side dishes) from Kyotamba town is available by advance reservation, picked up at the front desk between 7 and 9 a.m. Only one type of breakfast is offered, and menu changes and allergy accommodation are not possible, even on consecutive nights. The lounge area has a free-drink service with coffee, tea and miso soup, plus a microwave and an ice machine.
Baths
The only bathing facility is the shower booth in the guest room; there is no communal bath, private-hire bath, onsen or sauna. There is no bathtub either, so soaking in a tub together with a small child is not possible, and bathing is by shower only.
Family-friendly points
Co-sleeping is free for one child of elementary school age or younger per adult. No children's amenities are provided, so please bring your own. If you book more children for co-sleeping than the set number allows, you may be asked to add the necessary rooms on the day of your stay. A child who uses bedding on their own is counted as an adult, and the booking must match the number of guests. Rollaway beds cannot be added to guest rooms.

The hotel is about 5 minutes by car from the Tamba IC on the Kyoto Jukan Expressway and about 20 minutes by car from JR Sonobe Station. It is about a 1-minute walk from the Ajimu no Sato stop on the Kyotamba town bus, and the Kyotamba Ajimu no Sato roadside station is also 1 minute away on foot. Parking has 20 spaces, free for staying guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Snow and icy road surfaces can occur in winter, so studless tires are recommended.
