Hyatt Regency Kyoto is a luxury hotel in Higashiyama-Shichijo, close to Sanjusangendo and the Kyoto National Museum. All 187 rooms are non-smoking and have granite bathrooms. Deluxe Rooms (king or twin) are 30-33 sq m and take 1 to 4 guests, and some have a sofa bed or a chair and ottoman. The Deluxe Balcony Room is 60 sq m, takes 1 to 4 guests, and has a wooden bathtub made of fragrant hiba wood. The 70 sq m Executive Suite has a 6-tatami Japanese-style tatami room with sunken-floor (horigotatsu) seating, where you can also spend time. On the top floor, the Regency Suite is a 90 sq m L-shaped suite with 2 bedrooms, each with twin beds, a layout well suited to families.
Dining
Cafe 33, the all-day dining restaurant, serves a buffet-style breakfast along with egg dishes cooked to order. When children have the Cafe 33 breakfast on their own, it is free for ages 0 to 6 and half the adult rate for ages 7 to 12. Room service is also available during your stay from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Le Petit Chef, the cinema dining venue on the first basement floor, offers a Kids Chef course for ages 6 to 12 (16,000 yen), but children under 6 cannot enter.
Baths
There is no communal bath, onsen or private-hire bath, so bathing mainly takes place in your room's bathroom. Guest-room bathrooms have granite flooring and a separate deep bathtub, and rooms of 60 sq m or more, as well as the suites, also have a wooden bathtub made of fragrant hiba wood.
Family-Friendly Features
Children aged 0 to 12 can stay with co-sleeping. On Guest Room plans, co-sleeping for elementary school children is charged at 100% of the adult rate, while co-sleeping for babies and young children with no meals and no bedding is free of charge. Cribs are available to borrow, but some rooms cannot take an extra bed, so co-sleeping is the standard arrangement. The fitness center cannot be used by anyone under 16, and there is no childcare service.
Access
The hotel is about 5 minutes by car from JR Kyoto Station and about a 7-minute walk from Keihan Shichijo Station. Staying guests can use a free one-way taxi service from JR Kyoto Station to the hotel. It is limited to one taxi, one ride per room, and group bookings are not eligible. Parking has 71 spaces, at 2,000 yen per night for staying guests. Vehicles 1.9 m or taller cannot enter the parking area. Check-in is from 3 p.m. to midnight, and checkout is at 12 p.m.
